Hi folks,

Sorry if this is the wrong forum...

I dropped my Atlantis tank and a piece of the tank broke off. So I started trying to remove the rest of the tank so I could put in a replacement. The glass just kept breaking off in various places until I had just points sticking out of the base. So I used tweezers to try to pull them out. But the pieces kept breaking off in tiny fragments. So I took a tiny flathead screwdriver and started trying to dig the pieces out from underneath. But I accidentally caught one of the metal prong thingamajigs (Ha! It didn't flag me for spelling with that word!) and bent it up.. Anyway, I could keep on trying to get it all sorted out. But I'm worried I'll just make it worse. So I'm looking for suggestions of the following types:

1. Best way to get the rest of the glass out.
2. Ways to sufficiently fix the bent up metal without making it worse, if possible.
3. Where to go on this board to ask if anyone has just the bottom piece of the tank and wants to sell it, so I don't have to buy a whole new tank just for that section.

Thanks for any help!

1. Run it under running water in every opening it can go through.
2. Maybe post a picture so we can see what you are talking about? Are you talking about the chimney? I can't recall any prongs in the bottom base.
3. If you don't have a Kraigen 8ml tank, buy one and add a base for $10 more (if you're willing to make a purchase) or post a wanted thread for an Atlantis or the base by itself.

Maybe "prongs" is not the right word. I've attached 2 pictures. The "prong" is the piece of metal sticking up in the one picture.

I am not familiar with the Kraigen. What is it? I'd prefer not to buy a whole new tank if I don't have to. I looked for the Wanted section but was unable to find it. Maybe I'm blind. I dunno.

Thank you for your reply.:)

I'm sorry. I just realized I was not being very clear. The problem is with the *top* part of the system, not the bottom/base. The part that holds the AFC system works fine as far I as I can see.

Anyway, I looked at the Kraigen. I'm confused about what comes with the tank they're selling. It says it comes with "full tank (end pieces and glass)". But then it offers the "base" extra. I guess I'm very unclear on the terminology. Thanks for being patient with a dim-witted newb.

Running it under water didn't help. What a terrible design that makes it nearly f-ing impossible to remove the glass if any of it breaks. Infuriating! Now i have to buy a new tank because I broke the (EXTREMELY BRITTLE) glass and couldn't get it out!

Can anyone else help me understand the Kraigen terminology from kidneypuncher.com that I expressed confusion over in the post above this one? Also, where is the Wanted section here?

Friend, can you please answer my other questions? Specifically my confusion over the Kraigen?

jtphenom, I had the glass break before. I used a jewlers screwdriver to get out the old pieces. Yes I had a prong or two get bent. Once you have the glass out then you can straighten them some. When you put in the new glass it will straighten them out the rest of the way. sweet-vapes.com has all of the pieces. Very cheap also. They have just the glass and they have a top half that has the glass and a metal cage around it.

Thanks for your help everyone! Unfortunately the 5 ml tanks are out of stock at myvaporstore. But at least I have some directions to go. DomDoobie, I tried using a jewelers screwdriver to try to get the pieces out, and I was working at it for a looong time, but to no avail. Either the glass is super-glued in there or I'm completely incompetent. Either way, I'm done messing with it before I have a coronary! LOL
