Atlantis on Sigelei 100 plus problem

Hi all. I have the Atlantis on a sigelei 100 plus. The problem is the device is inconsistently reading the Ohms. It should be .5 as that is what the atomizer is rated. However, randomly, my box will read it anywhere from .5 up 2.8. It's awful when I start to take a big hit only to be scorched by an Ohm reading that's incorrectly way too high. This is happening on multiple atomizers. I usually run at 30 watts but it happens at lower wattages too. I took everything apart and cleaned it. No dice. Using a 50/50 blend with 3mg nic. Any ideas what the problem is? Atomizers? tank? Mod? Thanks for any help I can get.

Welcome to ECF, madcap!

While I can't address your problem, I will be monitoring this thread as I am/was about to pull the trigger on the Sigelei 100W plus for my Atlantis. Somebody should be along soon who can shed some light on it.

But if I might ask, am I reading it right that by being "scorched" you mean as burnt taste or hard throat hit?

Similar thing happened to me the other day actually. First off don't crank the Atlantis up to 100 watts it won't handle it. I vape the Atlantis at about 40 watts with no dry hits. One thing that happened to me was, as I was refilling my tank my hand slipped and I let some juice go down inside the channel and it clogged it up pretty bad and didn't hit to well and read wrong as well. I emptied my tank and cleaned it out and put a new coil in it and it was good to go. This may not be your problem but something you could try. Also check you connections on the tank and your mod as well. Good Luck

I have the same issue sometimes on my ivp3 but it reading the wrong resistance shouldnt affect the performance at all being your controlling the wattage anyway.

Not entirely true as when the resistance goes up and your at a set wattage it will up the voltage ALOT depending on the different reading it is getting and if it is too much it WILL make for a HORRIBLE vape sometimes...just saying

When that happens to me I crank it up to 40w and blow firing the coil.. It burns excess juice and vents out the slotted air intake in the base ..takes two or three times but clears it up easily..once done readjust the watts to your sweet spot and enjoy...

I've noticed that just changing to a different ejuice will oftentimes mean a setting change. But if you only run the same flav, this is odd! Perhaps you've burnt a coil?

Hi all, regarding the sigelei 100 plus,
The incorrect ohms reading is due to a poor connection within the device on the negative side of the 510 connection, I had mine fluctuating and readings going up to 3/4 ohms !!!!!!!! And getting a serious dry hit, then on the next draw the reading was down to 0.6 ohms. I took the device apart as the warranty had run out, as you only get 3 months with it and found the soldered joint on the negative side of the 510 had a dry connection, so I cleaned all areas and soldered a good connection, re- assembled it and hey presto it works like a dream now and I'm getting the 0.5 ohms on the display as it should read, It has only ever shown 0.6 to 0.7 ohms on a coil that I know was 0.5 ohms.
Hope this was of help.

This has worked so well, the readings are solid at 0.5 ohms and not moved at all, this device has never worked so well. It's all down to the assembly process, as the circuit board is all fully soldered prior to assembly, the only soldering done to finish the product is the negative to the 510 connection as it can't be done prior to assembly and it was soldered so bad no wonder the ohms were jumping all over the place. This is a must fix for all devices in my opinion.

Because I was getting different ohm readings I tested a box of brand new Atlantis coils on a separate (and accurate) ohm meter.. The highest read .67 and the lowest read .58.. Not one out of five tested at the advertised .5 ohms...
That said I always check the ohm reading before installing the tank on my mod...I was surprised they read differently by as much as + .2 ohms. The higher reading always on the mod... :(
I gave the segelli away in favor of the more accurate IPV4 .[emoji4]
