I have been battling along for over two years and have yet to find an atomiser that lasts.
Twist atomisers are expensive and do not last more than a week or two.
ECS sell "disposable" atomisers which , while cheap, hardly lasts a day.
I've tried Twist's 1st and 2nd generation of their tank systems, and they also lasted no more than a week.
Has anyone found an alternative atomiser which lasts an acceptable length of time???

I've been using Joye brand 1.5 ohm 510's and 1.7 ohm DSE 901's for a couple of years now. I average about one month's usage before they die, although occassionally one lasts 2 or 3 months, and now and then one gives out in a week or two. I buy in bulk and pay right around $4 US for each one, about the same price as a pack of cigarettes. I've tried cartomizers and found I only get about 1 weeks usage from each one, although the price of a carto is about 1/4 that of an atomizer it works out to roughly the same cost. Plus I don't really care for the muted flavor which cartomizers produce.

If you're only getting a week or two from an atomizer maybe you're not keeping it wet enough, or perhaps you're running too high a voltage, both of which could cause premature failure.

Do you mean Twisp atomizers? You can get the same ones from eciggies in Pretoria much cheaper. I use the dual coils from eciggies, only R20 so if they only last a week that's fine, but mostly they last me much longer.

Hey Boeriemore

Best you can do is drop atomizers, and go for the more disposable cartomizers or clearomizers (Kanger T3, Vision Clearo, CE4 etc) These all come with 510 connections, so you would be best served to buy a battery with a 510 connection, as it is the defecto standard in vaping.

There is links to many USA vendors here on ECF, but I find eCiggies - Electronic Cigarettes | Vaporizers | e-Liquid | Electronic Cigarettes | Electronic Cigarettes the best local alternative. They have a really good range of Ego batteries, as well as larger lava tube like mods, with most any cartomizer you can think of. Althoug you would still get stuff imported for cheaper, if you're willing to wait a bit longer.

Good luck, hope you come right.

Vape on!

Thanks for all the comments, folks.
I just bought 2 packs of cartomisers from ECS. They now come empty.
First filling they work fine, but by the end of the day need to be replaced.
The Twisp Neo tank system lasted six days. I returned it and was given another
which lasted ten days.
Liquid wise, I am confused by e-ciggies strength table - 2.0mg (cigarette equivalent) / 24mg (marking)
The cheapest high nicotine liquid seems to be e-ciggies 30ml bottle @ 36mg - R100.

Hey Boeriemore, have you considered getting something like the Mini Vivi Nova that is a clearomizer that has a replaceable atomizer? So just the inner part get's replaced. Even then for those who don't want to replace, and are a little bit handy, can rebuild by making/wrapping a new coil. You just need the wire and a multimeter to check the ohms.

What is a Twisp Neo Tank? Do you have a link?
What battery are you using?

Thanks Dragonbone. Where would I find a Mini Vivi Nova?
Twisps site seems to now only advertise their Neo products. neo battery, no more eGo batteries.
It is their second generation of atomisers with built in tank for filling with liquid.
Currently I am using ECS's cartomisers with Twisps eGo batteries, but these cartomisers (disposable atomisers)
last no longer than a day or two.

www.healthcabin.net I would definitely get the Mini Vivi Nova with eGo batteries. I run the same atomizer in a Mini Vivi Nova for weeks, now and again When filling up the tank, I wash it out and dry carefully, then refill again and good as new. Get some spare atomizers, (although three come in the Vivi Nova box). Also get a an eGo steel cone size D to hide the outer threads. They also have some awesome eGo batteries at Health Cabin. They ship internationally in small discreet boxes. I buy from them a LOT :). Let me know if you need any help. I know what it's like being frustrated!

What interests me the most is what you said about making my own coils.
I would love to know how the atomisers/cartomisers are made that causes the filament
to pack up in no time. I have a box of about 20 Twisp atomisers and mountains of cartomisers
which all no longer work. Same with my Twisp tank systems. None work.
I will check out Health Cabin, because Twisp do not seem to sell eGo batterys anymore.
To recap, I have my eGo batteries. I should get presumably the Mini Vivi Nova starter kit.
Where does the coil making /replacements come into the equation.
I appreciate you input.

Boeriemore, I would advise you to just start off with the stock vivi novas, and as you get more experienced, figuring out what you like and dislike about them (remember to tilt frequently while vaping - otherwise you might get a slightly burnt taste), then you can start with the rebuilding (I rebuild them with cotton wicks, but cotton is finicky, until you get it right). Stock vivi's are great, you wont be disappointed.

By the way, for any review on most all of the e-cig products out there, check out Phil Bussardo's reviews at www.tasteyourjuice.com He is the go to reviewer for most of the ecig world!

www.healthcabin.com is a wonderful place to shop for almost anything you might need, BUT recently they stopped shipping with china post, which was really cheap, now you can only use EMS and DHL, which is quite expensive.

You can try www.madvapes.com I buy most of my stuff from them, great service, good prices and cheap shipping to South Africa (I generally wait about 2-3 weeks for a delivery - and they have a huge selection). They have the mini vivi nova - Vision 2.0ml Slim Nova Tank Clearomizer, Smoke and the regular - Vision 3.5ml ViVi Nova Tank Clearomizer, Clear

While you're there, check out there topvapor juice http://www.madvapes.com/e-liquid/topvapor-e-liquid.html, very very nice, and again, much cheaper than most other places, and FAR cheaper than any crap Chinese juice you can get in South Africa. Before I started my DIY juice, I bought alot of juice from them (try rootbeer, minthol, ultamint and grandpas mix!)

If you're in the market for a new Ego, be sure to get the Ego Vision Spinner Vision eGo Spinner 1300mAh Variable Volt Battery, Black from Madvapes, or the original Joyetech Ego Twist 1000mah battery http://www.healthcabin.net/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1106_1112&products_id=8044. I've got 2 of the latter, and they compare favourably with my larger mods (2 Lavatubes and an Evic). With these, you can adjust your voltage for more or less VTF (Vapor, Throat hit, Flavour - a term coined by Phil Bussardo!)

Good luck, and shout if you need help!

Vape on!

Oh, and 36mg is VERY strong, not advised, as only hardcore vapors do it, and even then just now and then!

8 - 12mg is considered light (almost equivalent to a camel light)
16 - 18mg is medium (like Kent special mild)
24mg is considered high (almost equivalent toStuyvesant Red)
36mg is extra high (almost equivalent to Camel Plain)

I mix my DIY juice between 5mg and 8mg - and I get plenty satisfaction out of it!

Wow, good info SunRam!
I vape 36 mg :) -all the time, as do many others here on the ECF, but that is with USA ejuices (not Chinese). I originally bought the higher nic ejuices to save money by cutting with a bit of VG, but found that the higher nic ejuices were more satisfying. Not saying everyone should do it, just giving my personal account.
My favorite vendor is VaporGod.com. Delicious juices! I love the Cotton Candy, Chocolate Hazelnut, Toasted Almond, Caramel Candy... And several others. Actually once I tried American gourmet ejuices, I was spoilt and just couldn't enjoy DIY and Chinese ejuices anymore :p.

Thanks Dragonbone. I know what you're saying about the custom made gourmet USA juices, but dang, with the R / $ exchange rate, DIY is just sooo much more affordable! lol

On the 36mg note, we just dont want newcomers, or inexperienced users kicking it off with 36mg juice!!! I think it's better they start a bit lower and then see if they need more

Hi Guys, Boeriemore, eciggies have got T3's only they brand them differently.
Here: Pleco Clearomizer (Bottom Feeder / Changeable Coils)
Replaceable bottoms here: Pleco Clearomizer (Bottom Feeder / Changeable Coils)
Look under New Stuff on their site.;)

Thats nice to know Liewe Heksie ;) I'm really impressed with eCiggies - Electronic Cigarettes | Vaporizers | e-Liquid | Electronic Cigarettes | Electronic Cigarettes variety of choices, and I have bought emergency supplies there a couple of times, but it remains expensive vs importing you own stuff from the states
