Quick question: Is there a proven, definitive method for cleaning out an atomizer? The one I'd been using has started to produce less vapor, but I'm hoping a good cleaning will take care of that. (If I need a new one, oh well, I'll just buy a new one.) I've read that some people soak them in alcohol overnight... like 151, or rubbing alcohol or something, but I don't know if there's a proven method.

Probably a basic question, but I guess that's what this subforum is for. :)

As far as the vaping goes, I'm loving it! I've cut my smoking down to about half, and I'm mentally gearing myself up to go my first full day without a cigarette in about eight years, which is farther than I thought I'd be at this point. Thanks to everyone here for helping me out getting started. :)

Hi Kingnothing48, welcome to the forum! I wouldn't recommend rubbing alcohol to clean your atty with, it leaves a sticky residue. I use crest prohealth mouthwash. Pour some in a container, put your atty in, and swish every couple of minutes gently for a total of 15 minutes. Remove your atty, and rinse,(with warm running water) rinse, rinse, blow out, rinse, rinse rinse, blow out, blow out, blow out, (yea, I'm being silly) then place threaded end up on a paper towel to dry for a couple of days OR set it on end on the top of a lightbulb overnight. It must be dry of all water before you prime it with juice and try to vape with it again. There are many suggestions for atty cleaning on the forum, search around til you find one you'd like to try. You do have another atty to use in the meantime, don't you?

perfect! The only recent change is we now blow it out first, before the soak. The plan is to blow it out as much as possible so the cph can get in there and clean the mesh....

ps...don't set it on a light bulb. Any water in the atty could burst the hot bulb...I just blow mine out with my mouth...for sure, they have to be dry INSIDE before you can use 'em again

Oh, absolutely. I'd just like to get the most out of each atty I use, so I figured I'd clean my first one, which had been giving me great service for about six weeks now. Thanks for the tip -- I'll have to try the mouthwash thing!

Welcome to the forum kingnothing.

Good luck on your 'first full day'. With the vaping, it will not be as hard as you might expect. And after your second full day, you will probably realize how awful cigs taste if you have one ;)

Back on topic: the cleaning method in my sig works for me every time (takes about 5 minutes start to finish once you get it down). But only use it if you have extra attys around for back ups ;) (just in case)
