So im trying to see why the atomizer is called like this (trying to build a ecig withouth having one is a pain), as far as pictures go is an ignitor/vaporizer, but do correct me if im wrong, seems to work like this, theres a circular ceramic room holding a nichrome wire that is spined around a wick (6-7 loops, zippo wick?), this nich wire is soldered to normal wire, this normal wires then go to a switch then a battery, u push the switch and nichro wire goes red hot burning wathever liquid is on the zippo wick (but since the wick can resist a lot more heat it doesn't burn), liquid reach the wick tru a hmm what seems like metallic wool..? does it work like a filter of some kind to prent the liquit to drip beyond the divice?.

Bottom line is why is called atomizer when it doesn't atomize anything?

I think the term comes from the old school atomizers that spray perfume.

If the wick is too long you may not draw enough eliquid fast enough.

Sounds about right. I think the "Zippo" wick as you call it is fiberglass.

I have not taken any 901, nor 510 apart, but I have ripped a few "Minis" open changing cartridges.
