Atomizer Performance

I am just starting to experiment with atomizers on a bottom feeder mod I got. I'm a newbie and have been vaping with cartomisers on a vv mod. What I notice with atomizers is a few things: After bottom feeding it, every vape is different. Usually starts with gurgle and juice-in-mouth, then a few good vapes, then hot and dry. I know there's a trick to all this, but is this normal? Also, I've noticed that if you chain vape, things get really bad. Vapor drops off, flavor fades and it gets hot, hot, hot. Seems the atomizer needs time to cool down between vapes for best perfromance. Is all this normal and just the way atomizers behave? I don't have these issue with cartomisers. I must admit, the few good vapes I get when things are perfectly aligned with the atomizer are really good.

No this this has not been my experience with bottom feeding at all. The gurgle and spitting juice is coming from over feeding and flooding the atty. What atty are you using and at what voltage ?
