atomizer question

I was wondering about how long does one atomizer last and how do you tell if it is going out?

I've been buying mine (901's) from wayne@ ruyandirect and am using them on some of my mods, so far they've lasted 2 weeks, although I had 1 that had a bad ground and fried as soon as I put it on. It's really hit or miss with these lil gizmo's.

Atomizers can last several seconds to a few months. A clue an atomizer is dying is consistantly diminishing vapor production. Often the atomizer will just stop working. Alwass have a few extras on-hand.

well I've been using this one for about 2 weeks now and today at work it just does not seem to be producing any vapor. Is there any way to really tell if it is the atomizer going out though? I do not have another one at the moment

That is a loaded question indeed.. Some report DOA, others a week or two, and others a month. We had one report of a year?? So I guess there really is no clear answer anyone can give you.---check out the Experimenting section ---good experiance reports there on how people try to clean and preseve them--------Sun

Use a multimeter in continuity mode. Touch red lead to center conductor and black lead to the threaded portion of the atomizer. If you here a tone, the atomizer is not dead yet. You can also make a resistance reading in the same way on the ohm/resistance setting. Normal is around 3.5 ohms as I recall. A high reading is not good.

I dont have that equipment at hand, but I guess perhaps it is dead juice seems to be leaking out and it just isn't hitting as well as it was previously. I thought that the atomizers would last a bit longer than they do though

I like the idea of the cartomizer.
They're cheap so if they break it's no big deal.

I'm not worried so much with the atomizer breaking with the exception of I'm at work another 2 hours and my e-cig is not working properly. I would just order a 5 pack of titan atomizers from Totally wicked. at $40 bucks for 5 ($8 each) isn't costly even if I go through one a week its still cheaper than analogs, and much better in general

Well, a 5 pack of the cartomizers cost $ 12.50, that's even cheaper.
You can fill those also with liquid also.

Up to you to make your own conclusion on the 2 piece. They are not cheaper in any way compared to traditional e-cigs and refilling that I've seen, they are convenient and have good batteries, but have the lovely QC issues shown in the link on burning carts, except for the Greencig carts, which are well, pretty expensive but good.

Plan on an atomizer every few weeks, but try to keep a pair on hand for 'just in case.'
