Hi, I started viping 3 weeks ago and just found this forum. I have studied a lot about vaping but I'm still confused with all the atomizers...
My question is What is the difference between atomizer, cartomizer, clearomizer and tank?
I want something that will last for a long time and hold a lot of juice...
Will the tank be good for me? Is it considered a cartomizer?
Can I refill a cartomizer/tank? or it is for one use only?
What is a clearomizer? is it just a clear atomizer?

I don't have the budget for too many experiments so please help me clear things up.

Welcome to ECF.

An atomizer just has a heating element. It is used either for dripping or with a cart that holds juice.
A Cartomizer is a cart and atomizer combined in one unit. They are less expensive than an atomizers and generally hold more juice than a cart. Cartos are refillable and will last for several days (about a week is my experience)
A clearomizer is a carto that has a clear reservoir. They don'tgenerally use fillers like a cart, relying instead on wicks to carry juice to the heating coil. Some can be cleaned with relative ease and may last for several weeks.
A tank can be a reservoir surrounding a cartomizer. The cartomizer has one or more holes punched in them to transfer juice from the tank to the coil. Some tanks are overgrown clearomizers. They employ the same wicks like a clearomizer but have a higher capacity. The Vivi Nova is a good example of this.

Hope this helps.

Wow, great explanation. This helped me, too.
