Was recommend here to get some Joyetech atomizers for tasting DIY ejuice. Was given a link and purchased some. Just received them and they are just a 510 connection with a well inside that I can see the atomizer. Am I suppose to add juice in there and put on any drip tip for testing? Something seems off as it appears I'll just get juice in my mouth, or is that how they work for testing ejuices? These are the ones I got, though without the toppers. Do I need those (look like rubber) tips? Joye 510 or Joye eGo electronic cigarette replacement atomizers

I have never been a believer in testing flavors in anything other than what I intend to use that flavor in.
Trust me on this, it will never taste the same in your normal toppers as it does in a "test" atomizer.

However, what happened to me was that my "test atomizer" became my all day vape.

You just use a normal 510 drip tip. Those (empty) cartridges are just to keep spiders from making a nest in your atomizer. (jk) They're also great for baiting mouse traps.

I agree with this. I used to test DIY flavors in a dripping atomizer, and when I would put the same juice in a genisis, which I used at the time, it tasted quite different. It's one reason I started using RDAs. The first one I ever bought, strictly for testing, was an IGO-L, a cheap, easy to build, single coil dripper. Eventually, I found that I liked it too well to just use for testing. I also found that I liked building dual coils, which lead to my collection of dual coil capable RDAs, and later on, bottom feeders.
I'm also a firm believer in testing juice on whatever you're going to vape it on.

Though I can appreciate the responses. Really doesn't answer my question if they can be used with just a drip tip.

Yes they can. Some people remove the drip tip, each time they drip. Others simply drip down through the drip tip.

tj is correct in saying there will be a difference between your test atty and your regular atty. There are a few things that will make that difference. Going from a small chamber to a larger chamber, different coil in size, Ω's, and wire gage. I just use a cheap, but good rda for my testing. In my case that's an Igo-W, which I put the same build in it as what will be in the RDA, RTA, I will be using that juice in.
I have two or three boxes of the attys you got, but gave up using them because I didn't like that tight of a draw. You can use any 510 DT on them.

I don't use an RDA (at least not yet) and the coil for the atomizer is 1.5 the same that I use in my regular tank. I am new to DIY and it was suggested to test my juice.

this is how I set up a dripping atomizer.
    P1000581.jpg

    Shorty 510/510 adapter
    510 atomizer
    drip shield
    510 drip tip
The adapter is needed if you use a drip shield

Yes, just don't drown them in juice. They are probably mesh inside, so just drip enough to get them wet and take a couple of puffs. As people have replied, they will taste a bit different than an RDA, but it might give you an idea if the juice is close to what you are trying for. I used to use Cisco & Boge Atties like that to taste test some flavors (actually use to be what everyone used back in the day). The nice part is, you don't have cotton to rid the flavor from before tasting a new one.

So you use this to drip your ejuice for ADV? I did try one out after I made some juice (needs steeping) very different, but seemed to work well.

Ya that was my all day vape for a couple of years. Then I discovered the A7s that were the same great taste with half the work.
    The A7 is a RDA.

I personally use an IGO-L RDA for testing, but it sounds like you would want something more like a 306 Bridgeless atomizer. Watch this for a complete description and how to.
