Hey all. I'm starting to dislike my e-cig, which is bad (becouse that wil drive me to analogs and brrr, don't want that). The issues that I'm having are various.
I'll just tell my story and then ask for your advice.
So I started out with a KR808 which was nice, carto's were great (little did I know they actually weren't) pop them open, fill them up, vape away. Awesome! Untill ofcourse you go out, empty your batteries (I had 2 at the time) and then it was not so great, then came the next batch of carto's which were different from the ones I had, I now had CE2R4 carto's which were great for like 2 or 3 puffs of vapor and then, tasteless not to mention not throat hit at all.
On to part 2, the ego, I had read many great comments so I wanted to try it. So I bought one. I got the one with the cylinder type carts and ato's. Which was well, not so great. Hated it, it was messy, cart's were empty all the time, when I opened them up the filler would either get stuck in the ato or make a mess in general. The only thing I did like about it was the battery life. So that wasn't what I was looking for so ...
On to the ego-t. Got it, filled it, awesome, good taste (not always but satisfactory at least) nice throat hit, easy to fill. All in all, best I've had thus far. But then ato 1, leaking so I got another, after about a week same problem, so I removed the wick as described on the forums pushed it up a little to prevent leaking, eventually, I broke it alltogether, my bad. Next ato, maybe 2 weeks and I get a really hard drag, juice runs up the tank ... the works, so I clean it, get 3-4 good hits and then the same. So next (by now I'm starting to dislike these things) next ato, the one I'm using right now is flooding again after 2 weeks of use. I haven't cleaned it so far becouse I'm thinking I may be breaking them that way, maybe I'm doing it wrong.
What I do is rinse them with water, blow them out, give them a little dry burn (like 4-5 cycles on an ego-t battery) and then put the tank back on.
What I've tried with this ato, as I've read on here somewhere is use a new tank, that was a little better for like 2 or 3 hits but then the drag gets harder and harder untill its almost impossible to get any vapor out of it. I've blown it out multiple times with little to no result.

So firt of all sorry for the big wall of text but I'm going somewhere with this :)

First question, am I doing it wrong? Can I fix this? Or is this just the lifespan of an ato (2 to 3 weeks)?

Second question, can you propose an alternative? I don't like dripping so that's no option, I've tried it and its to much of a hassle. I've tried G4 carto's and the system I really like, they vape like crap though.
So far I have been limiting myself to suppliers in the netherlands since they deliver the fastest and transport is cheaper but I think I may need to order overseas to get something better (if there is?).

TLDR; I dislike my ego-t flooding all the time, please help or propose an alternative.

Many thanks

Hi!
On your testemonial i noticed that you mencioned you liked the G4 and i was WTH???
Ok...First of all i also have tanks and they are...how should i say it?...Stored...somewhere...
Cartos are ok.
Drip is ok.
Now let's start form the top.
You don't like to drip and messy attys, right?
Get a bottom feeder and some cartos (dual-coil, LR...not g4..please not G4)
I used to drip all day long on my eGo. Now i have a Boge Revo 2.1 that at least produces good vapor.
On the bottom feeder you have two choices:
The well known REO or just make your own.
Let's face it...It's better to have 1 full bat in your pocket than a bottle of juice.

Wanna keep your eGo?
Ok. Get a set of cartos and off you go (as long as the batt survives all day long, because for me i would need 2 of 650mAh or 1 of 900mAh)

On the tanks flooding (i never got a good TH out of them) check if your juice is too diluted. I use at max 60%PG 29%VG and 1% vodka on the mix, so i can get a good juice flow without spilling/flooding so far.
Also, seems like type B atty-T are better but can't say for sure because i never tried them.

I use Ego-T LR type A (cone).
For me it's a pleasant experience.
Only flooding I've found so far is when wick becomes gunked up after 10-15 days of heavy use (i burn 5 tanks daily).
Then atty sametimes flood, and mouthpeece starts sucking liquid instead of vapor.

Cleaning process:
Remove wick plate.
Remove wick, and burn it on a flame until it turns white again. Be careful not to remove metal mesh on it.
Rinse atty with cold water, forcing water through atty. I just put it under a tap and force water through.
I also disasemble tanks and wash parts in hot water.
Blow atty to remove excess water.
Dryburn atty carefully. LR atty tend to pop easily. I put a drop of pure VG on a coil and burn it.
Reasemble wick, force it back with old tank or some pipe (Bic pen).
Fill and vape.
If U experience dry hit from time to time, use sharp object to force a wick a little down in the spike.

It is how I do that, but not too often, I order parts from China, and for 10 bucks apiece, LR atty is easier to throw away after 15 days. I keep some in case of emergency, if I run out of them.

@SkeetS
I think you missed the part where I say the G4's are crap. I like the system, easy to fill and makes no mess and all but the vaping is useless. Maybe I should try the REO, I liked the vape I got from dripping in my LR atty, I just hate dripping all the time.

@Smislow That is exactly the problem I have, only faster than you apparently, I vape 2-3 tanks a day. I will try out your cleaning process, thanks for the tip on reasembling with an old tank, didn't think of that and it's always been a real struggle refitting the needle plate.
