I'm not sure if I'm posting in the right place but I couldn't really find a sub forum for my question.

I have been using atomizers for my Joye 510 standard since I started vaping a little over 3 months ago. I read and heard all the hoola about cartomizers so decided to give them a try. Well, today was my first day using them and I must say that I do like the cartos better than the attys. However, I had heard that cartos were supposed to last longer than the atty and cartridge, which it did...my atty/cartridge lasts about 2 hours and the carto lasted about 3 hours. Only problem is that the carto takes up to two times more e-juice! I have used almost 3ml juice today and by this time on a normal day with my atomizer/cartridge I would have used maybe 1ml juice.

So, my question is...anyone else experience this? Okay, another question...am I doing something wrong? Thanks!

Nothing wrong with more juice consumption. If you DIY 6ml a day is about .10 cents, not really a big deal. If your buying premade juice, ouchy.... In the end though, if you want more vapor/flavor/throat hit, you almost have to use more juice.

Whatever it takes to reach that satisfied point, the longer you hold that point=the farther you are away from cigs. Those standard joye cartridges hold like 7 drops, there are Dual Coil Cartomizers out there that hold over 3.5 ml of juice 8) As long as your not drinking it, your not wasting it !

Thanks...maybe I just need to DIY on the juice then, lol. I just don't see how it's more cost effective the way it is now. That is something I haven't really looked into yet (DIY) but maybe I will have to take that plunge and give it a try, because I really do like the hit I get from the carto better than the atty. Oh, and on my Joye510 cartridges I can get like 12 drops in them. But, it's not about how much it holds for me because the juice in my attys last 2 hours before I have to refill them and I'm only gaining an hour using the cartos. Happy Vaping!! :vapor:

Low resistance cartos DO take a lot more juice. The SMOK tech ones go through the juice like you are drinking it, but normal ones do not have any more juice usage than an atty. The best thing is to just keep the carto wet, and add a drop here and there and they will even out. I have not had a carto take the full amount of juice on a refill EVER, so there is probably a few drops stuck in there that are bever used.

I am using Genuine Joye 510 carto's, standard ones not LR. Glad I didn't buy the SMOK tech brand!

It don't matter which if you have access to juice whether its a carto or an atty. I use only attys but I have access to a 6ml bottle in my REO so I use a ton of juice. :)

Wow! I don't know if I would like using one of those. I like to let my PV hang in my mouth while I'm typing and working...don't think that would work for me with a REO, lol. I'm concerned about the cost as well as the convenience and the vape. I work at home so I don't mind re-filling throughout the day, but I don't want to double my cost of e-juice either.

I agree.
1.6 ohm Dual coil uses more juice and drains batt quicker. Since each coil is about 3.2 ohms they handle some abuse at 3.7 volts w/o burning wick. Mine have been pretty reliable. Best I've found. Mine produce clean dense vapor. 6mg produces good TH.

CE2-X is easy on juice and batt. Mine had issues w/ cracking after a while. Two of five had funky taste when new. I still like them and feel all bugs will be worked out soon. 12mg produces good TH.

I only use attys for mixing DIY juice. Now I'm lazy to direct drip. 12mg produces good TH when atty is new and I bump up to about 24mg when atty is older.

lol. Cool. Glad you like the cartos. I like the "whatever works for you" method.

FYI - for me, I DIY and waste almost zero juice........(dripping with an atty).... I save the cartos for occasional use while driving.

Thanks Pops! I have already been searching the DIY link and have decided my first try at making my own e-juice is going to be strawberry/kiwi. I've downloaded Breaktru's e-juice calculator, and am ready to go once I get the flavors ordered :)

Get a few flavors if you can... like vanilla, or caramel, and/or tobacco, or or or. You may find that you get tired of, or don't like, the strawberry or the kiwi and then you would be "stuck". You may also want some small bottles to mix in.

Strawberry-kiwi sounds good. <looks around....where's my kit>

Enjoy!!!

Been doing my juice DIY for quite a while now. Jumped on it shortly after I started vaping. It's super cheap, no way I'd pay for pre-mix. The main thing is you can vape with whatever you want and not worry about how much juice you're using.

When I see people complaining about juice consumption, my immediate thought is, "so what, you must be paying too much for juice."

Hello jhaydon. I use the Genuine Joye 510 cartos also. I don't know why you would be using so much juice tho. I consider myself a heavy vaper, almost non stop while I'm awake.

4 cartos usually lasts me right at 24 hours. I refill once a day about the same time everyday, 10:30 to 11:30 am. So, that is somewhere around 3.5 to 4ml per day.

After the initial filling, my cartos hold about .8 to 1ml. Really, that should last a chain vaper 3-4 hours.

I think that I am using a bit more juice than I used to with the atty/cart set-up, but it is well worth it for the extra flavor and vapor I get out of the cartos. Plus the convenience of not having to refill every 45 minutes. Plus the fact that cartos are 1/5th the cost of attys, and last me just about as long....10-14 refills versus 10-21 days for an atty on average.

ETA: Attypops and WOH, you have got me convinced to look into DIY
