The pin in one is either too high or too low and is not making contact.
Or one atomizer is dead.

shoulda posted in other thread in case anyone every happens to search for same problem, but anyway, someone else suggested the same thing, but it didn't help. I cleaned it with 90% alcohol, tried loosening it with an exacto razor blade, but it dint' work, and I don't know if it moved up a mm or what.
But, I put the atomizer pin almost faling out of the rubber grounding grommet it goes into so that it makes contact as it screws onto the battery, but that didn't work either.

All I could think of is this older battery won't work with A-1 kanthal.?

You need to check your ohms. You may also have shorts on your coils. An Ego isn't the pv to use for testing coils.
