So the positive post on ego batteries can be pushed down a hair from one clearomiser and not spring back up because of traces of dripped and dried juice making the rubber isolator (under/around battery + post) a bit stiff. The next thing you put on there (like your T3) might have its positive connection located (or pressed) a tiny hair further up than your other heads. The distances can be tiny and still be far enough to cause a connection problem. Try this. Turn off your battery and clean inside the connection area with q-tip and rubbing alcohol. Then, gently insert a slender object between the collar and the positive post and wiggle it. Now work your way around the positive post, very gently levering it to loosen it from its dried juice prison. Now try your T3 again.

shoulda posted in other thread in case someone happens to have the same problem and searches it later, but anyway, that^ didn't work. Thanks anyways. I could mimic that and better by just almost puling out the last piece that completes the head build (the metal pin that goes into the rubber grounding grommet that conducts the positive coil wire to the battery port). I tried that, but it still didn't work.

All I can think of is that this older (3/4 years) battery doesn't work with A-1 Kanthal. ?

You seem to be getting a bunch of responses in your original thread. IMO, cross-posting here is not helping. From what I read in the other thread, please be careful what you are doing. Don't get impatient, think safety first, do your homework and if you still don't understand thoroughly, don't try something until you do 'get it'. Anything less can become dangerous fast.

It can't have anything to do with it being Kanthal. Don't troubleshoot on that tangent. The only other thing I can think of is that, when I rebuilt a T3, I noticed that it would be very easy to have the top cap end up touching the coil upon reassembly. (meaning the metal stem that ends up serving as the "straw" leading to your mouthpiece. It's the equivalent of the silicone and washer cap on a vivi nova). Maybe your bigger battery can still fire with that short circuit giving you something like, say, 1.4Ω; but the smaller battery won't fire it.
