I’m now using an Atopak Penguin for out and about and the hubby uses 4 Atopak dolphins. So we go through LOTS of those coils. Just wondering if anyone has successfully rebuilt the stock coils?
And on a related note (stock coils), but different brand, does anyone know what material is used in the smok V8 and V12 stock coils? It’s thin strips that do not look like they’re the same as just cutting a thin section of a cotton pad...
Thanks in advance for any help or tips you can offer

I would caution you against intentionally torturing yourself.
I found the metal contacts to be the weak point with these coils.
The coil is NR-R-NR wire and the ends are trapped mechanically by the metal end caps.
They do not withstand more than one or two recoils and those recoils are hit and miss.
The cotton in the heads is a long thin sheet like material, similar to a double thick, Japanese cotton pad "skin".

Yes, it does help. I imagine they’re like the ego aio coils: rebuilding is possible but results aren’t great. Well, sounds like I’ll try to clean them once and then toss them. I need to find the best price and stock up!

Fwiw, I haven't seen discussions on this for quite a while. Might be better pods by now. Gtcu

I assumed this was a newer aio mod (seems to be a new one every day), but nope, it’s pretty old as far as vape gear is concerned. I actually like it for travel with the .25 coil . Of course it’s not my main vape , but I can drop it, stick it in my pocket or purse and not worry about leaks.
Plus, it’s keeping a 30+ year smoker off of the cigs!

I would love to get my hands on some of that long, strong wick (seems a lot stronger than Japanese cotton)

I moved on myself.
My best coil life was with low (3%-5%) flavour DIY juice, the .6Ω coil and a piece of tape over half of the air intake.
Remember to continue to draw for a second or two after releasing the button to cool the coil a bit.
