Attention OHIO vapers, we need to stand together on this!!!

The Governor of Ohio, Mr. John R. Kasich is proposing a budget measure that would impose a 48% TAX on electronic cigarette products IF it passes. He is attempting to do this by grouping electronic cigarettes into 'tobacco products'- which they are clearly NOT. If you are an Ohio citizen that vapes or would simply like to tell Mr. Governor Kasich that he is wrong, then visit this link and exercise your right to voice the truth. Mr. Kasich is supposed to represent We the People of Ohio, but we need to tell him in which ways he must represent us- in order to make this happen. Your opinions can make all the difference.

vaping is NOT smoking. vaping contains absolutely NO cancer causing tobacco! None! vaping should NOT be put into the same category as tobacco. Please e mail and flood him with facts. This is BS!

Ohio just passed HB144, which defines e-cigarettes as non tobacco products, which are not subject to tobacco taxes... Whatever Kasich may propose would not pass muster and won't be enacted. Those who know budgeting processes as relating to federal, state or local governments know politicians throw everything out there; by the time the budget is passed, there will be no tax...

HB144-

(2)(a) "Alternative nicotine product" means, subject to division (A)(2)(b) of this section, an electronic cigarette or any other product or device that consists of or contains nicotine that can be ingested into the body by any means, including, but not limited to, chewing, smoking, absorbing, dissolving, or inhaling.

(b) "Alternative nicotine product" does not include any of the following:

(i) Any cigarette or other tobacco product;

Kasich is just playing the game to appeal to Dems on other issues, knowing full well his 'proposal' goes against a bill he just signed into law...

I sincerely appreciate your input on this, Steve. It's so messed up, and either way, I would be quite angry if they go after us vapers, by giving us one more thing to have to pay tax on. Government certainly isn't for the people.

Ohio isn't going to have a special tax on alternative nicotine products, which is how e-cigs were defined in HB144. Not paying punitive taxes on e-cigs was a main point in HB144, along with sales to minors. Other than standard sales tax, there will be no additional tax on e-cigs in Ohio...
