atty battery question ?

im hoping some one who knows a thing or two to jump in in on this one *ahem* switched lol
but i have a couple attys with really wonky ohms readings i have a LR thats reading 4.7 ohms and i know that it used to be 1.8 so how can the ohms change , i still can use this atty if i crank my vv up to 5-6 v but im wondering if this is hard on my batteries or if something dangerous can happen from using these attys

well batteries can explode so its better to ask lol, im using the AW IMR16340S also if that makes a difference
and the other atty reads 5.5 ohms , geez what happened to my LR

Seeing that an atty coil is no more than a winding of conductive material, it could simply be a metallurgic breakdown, or "gunk" that is adding to the coils resistance.

also, make sure your not physically touching the atty or meter probes with your fingers, or will get a false reading.

A Small farcture in the coil, or some gunk (as smokum suggested). Worst case is you may blow the atty. This will be hard on your batteries but I wouldn't think you have to worry about them if they are protected.

Simple, the atty is on its death bed. Use at HV until it dies.

ok just want to be sure , it still works so good though its the only atty i can use past 5v

I have a standard joy that does that all the time if i use thicker juice lower volts the ohms go up.Then i crank up the volts for a while it will drop back down to 1.8 ohm weird but ya i think it is just buid up on the atty.I have used the one mentioned without troubles,other than changing my voltage to match what it is doing.

well I can now say it doesn't work for an ego t atty LOL. always wondered what the inside looked like. and now I understand why the coil wasn't working. as I pulled it up and out all this charred crap came off. all good I still have 2 more to experiment with haha
