I'm thinking about building an Atty to put on my Lunar authentic. It says a 510 drip tip is required. They come in many mm sizes. Forgive my ignorance, but I assume the mm size is the upper opening and the 510 is the generic size that fits the Atty? Any help would be cool. At this point I am not even sure how to build my own coil. I'm going to learn though.

When a drip tip is said to be a 510, it means it is meant to fit atomizers and cartomizers which use the 510 connector, assuming it has a replaceable drip tip. There are other sizes, though they've become less and less popular over time and are getting rare. Also, there are often slight variations in 510 drip tips. For instance, I bought a really tall drip tip to use on my Nimbus, but it won't fit. It's too big, even after using several different o-rings. However, that same tip fits perfectly on my Protank2 and Protank2 mini, as well as my Boge 510 cartos. Oddly, both of the Protank2's driptips fit the Nimbus just fine. So they're not *all* interchangeable, as one might think. So if you are looking to buy a drip tip for a particular atty, check the reviews. Often people will say 'I bought this for such and such atty but it doesn't fit', or 'it fits perfectly on my _'. It's not a perfect guide, but sometimes it can help.

Thanks for the clarification. Everyone here is so nice. I have so much to learn.

That... I have about a dozen different driptips, and some of them won't fit some of my tanks but do fit some others, which some of my other driptips won't fit. They're all just a tiny bit different, though they are all supposed to be the same -- a standard 510 driptip.

Lately I've been dripping on a 510 Low Resistance atomizer and the 510 drip tips work perfectly. It seems like 510 is the standard as my 510 drip tip works on my mini protank 2. The only time you're going to run into problems, as I have found out, is if you're using a 306 atomizer, then the drip tips/shields are pretty hard to come by.
