So I have an Ego, and for the first time it ended up going off in my pocket because the button was held down. After this I let it cool down and tried to use it and got the most god awful taste. I'm assuming that taste was my wick being burnt. Anybody else that's had this happen have any suggestions? Will cleaning it help, or should I try to remove the wick?

Wicks don't burn at the temperatures reached in an atomizer. The liquid has most likely "caramelized" onto the atomizer element.
I'd rinse it thoroughly in (water, alcohol, whatever, your choice), allow it to dry completely, then do a dry burn to burn off the "caramel." Follow with another rinse and dry-out and it should be good to go.
