Ok, I needz help. I know I've seen this mentioned, and I did try searching, but can't find it.

I dryburned and rewicked a build in my nuppin. and now it's popping and cracking a lot.

IIRC, it has to do with too much or too little wick, but can't find where it was discussed. Can this do it, or is it something else, and which one izzit?? It wasn't popping like this til I rewicked. Lemme know if y'all need more info.

lol love me some sizzling bacon......but when it pops it's not a good vape. Flavor is not there. I know it's not dry, I'm squonking so much trying to get a non popping good vape, that juice is runnin all over the place lol When it doesn't pop, it's a good vape.

Sounds like you are choking the coil with too much wick.

I use RxW, so my wick never really changes, I get it occasionally and think it's ether from a hot spot on the coil or a spaces between wraps just the right size. You could try firing without a cap on the RBA to see if one spot on the coil causes the popping and then try to adjust it. Or just build a new coil.

Bad vape is different story than the popping. Fresh battery always causes all my coils to pop a bit. Vape is still good though.

IMHO the popping comes from coil exhausting liquid faster than wicking can keep up.

When I do cotton, I make sure the piece I'm using slides through the coil with some resistance. It shouldn't glide through and shouldn't grab either. And when possible have it feed from both sides of the coil.

There may be different kinds of popping.. I get popping when I run razor thin wicks. It looks to be a pocket of juice on the coil so thick that the bottom of the pocket "pops" through the still-liquid top. Those have great flavor, but I forget to squonk (every other fire)

The second is when my wick is so tight juice can't cover the coil, and juice "pops" out of the wick. Terrible dry flavor there and a singe'd wick.

thanks y'all.......I signed off not long before peng's answer. I figured since the build was the same I'd start with the wick. Forgot to say I was using KGD. I remembered thinking it may have been a bit thin when I wicked, so decided to try a tad thicker, and that solved the issue.

still leaking a little bit now and then, but not much. I have started using just one piece of wick to go through both coils, to make sure both are wicked the same. In the nuppin it's easy, no cutting, cept to snip off the end that I twisted.

Light cracking and popping is normal. Pressing the fire button and hearing a BIG Pop sound that almost scares you to death, usually means the Wicking material is too thin and not filling the diameter of the coil.

jup that's what it was. and appears to be the reason as well. little pops I'm used to. these made me think we needed to put out red white and blue decorations and look towards the night sky. Holiday 4th July in Hat med.jpg
