Okay so I just got 4 new attys in the mail and I blew the primer out of the 2 I bought brand new and blew out the ejuice that was left in the 2 I got from a fellow ECF member and went ahead and cleaned them w/ Vodka, after they dry do I need to put a couple drops of ejuice in them to keep the moist?? Or is it okay that they just stay completely dry.

Okay I don't have any pure PG but if it is okay to store them dry and just wet them during use then I'll do that :) how often do you rotate them?

I rotate 4-6 attys everyday, through about 7 mls of juice total. Since I vape 2 "families" of juices, I always have 2 in use, so flavors don't conflict. After half a day, the draw starts to tighten (atty dirty or juice dried up?) and I soak them in very hot water, go to clean attys. The soaked attys get blown out later, sit and dry a little before burning to dry completely (or clean thoroughly), ready for next use. It takes 10-15 minutes total drying/burning all attys (4 or 6 pending use and juice).

edit: I wouldn't worry if they sat dry for a long time either (just me), though some say to keep them wet.

Wow what juice are you using that gunks up an atty so fast? Takes me a week to get a tight draw.

I vape mostly Dekang USA Mix 50/50 PG/VG and TastyVapor Tobacco 40% VG (a little "unknown" brand mixed in, long story). Maybe it's the VG or I'm not cleaning the attys well enough, but I'm also particular about atty performance. As soon as I feel it doesn't pull as easily, I switch. I have heard rumors of TV Tobacco clogging attys, but Dekang gets "slow" too. I vape 100% VG Dekang too. By far, AVE clogs worse.

The hardware is Riva 510. Clues?

edit: vape 7 mls a day too.

edit2: using standard 510 (2.5 ohm) and Riva 2.0 - 2.3 ohm attys.

Sounds like the wick/coil is too close to the air hole if the draw tightens up so fast. Have you tried GENTLY pushing a paperclip into the atty hole and seeing if the wick/coil can be push back a little bit?

I "poked around" gently in one atty when it acted up. It died. I don't know if it was defective, but was a new one that came with Riva from LF, which they kindly replaced. I won't poke anymore, but that's interesting to know. :)

Well you could try drilling out one of the side holes with a 1/16" drill.

Even 100% VG e-Liquid shouldn't clog up an Atty so fast.

Maybe I tightened the batt too much too, will try loosening up. Thanks.

edit: maybe my attys are getting old, I do vape a lot, or I just like a loose pull.

An easy way to check is to take the atty off the battery and draw thru it. Now put you finger over the big air hole and draw.

If it doesn't draw well that means no air is going thru the side holes.

Just did it, it's fine. Maybe I just like that "new" atty feel, why I switch so much. I'm hjacking thread, sorry. What do you say to OP's atty storage question, zoi? :)

Good point about going off topic.

I store attys Completely Dry. I suppose the chances of Mold or the e-Liquid going bad is small but I like to store them Dry.
