Hi, i have a copper from www.atmosusa.biz and use 2 cr2's at 6v. I have since killed 2 attys and am wondering what tips are there to keep them working at a higher voltage. I love using the 6v but if i keep killing atomizers i cant really afford to. I have 14500's on the way to use at 3.7v. These are 4081 atomizers that i hear are pretty robust and have never had one fail on me while using regular 4081 batteries. Am i letting them vape to dry and burning them too hot? How many drops do you guys use at higher voltage?

I love 6V. I think it depends on the atty. I have had some pop as soon as I started vaping and some that just go and go. I am stuck on the BE112 atty at 6V. They just keep on working. Maybe someone could help you choose an atty that suites you.

Are BE112 parts compatable with all 801 stuff? I know he sells adapters to use the 801.

Jd, Thank you. I wasnt even going to respond to that post and appreciate that. I am just looking for help and have used advice from you before because i primarily use a 4081 which you seem to know more about than anybody ive talked to so far. Once again THANK YOU to everyone who runs these forums and helping myself and others learn about vaping.

What batteries are you using CR2's that say 3.0 volt are actually 3.6 volts so time 2 = 7.2 volts

Not sure about cr123's-

IMO- 6 or 7.2 volts is too high.

Prod had the right idea- 5 volts is the perfect sweetspot. I haven't killed any since switching to 5 volts

All of this is 510 atty info- I heard the be112 is a strong atty but- 7.2 is high and could be a little damaging.

6 volts will fry an atomizer. 6 volts will likely reduce the average life of an atomizer. Always have a good supply on hand, particularly if you use an 801. I agree that the BE112 is much more robust than an 801. I can kill and 801 at 6v in a week or less; a BE112 will last up to three weeks. I believe that overheating the atomizer heating coil too often and too dry will cause a premature failure.

Some general rules on vaping at 6 volts. These are not set in stone, so experiment with your equipment.

  • If using a cartridge, keep it moist by topping it off after every 4-6 draws of vapor.
  • If you drip, put no more than 3-4 drops of e-liquid on the atomizer bridge after every 4-6 draws of vapor.
  • Do not take more than 6-8 draws in a minute. The atomizer is going to get very hot.
  • Let a hot atomizer cool down for a minute or two BEFORE dripping or taking another draw.
  • It is a good idea to vape on another device and intermittently use the 6v device for a few hits, then go back to the other device. This gives the 6v unit a chance to cool down.
  • This device may damage or burn out an atomizer if it is allowed to get too hot, too often or if you run the atomizer too dry. Dripping onto a hot atomizer is a sure way to burn it up. (Don’t ask how I learned this three times.)
  • This device may make you addicted to high voltage vaping!!

Wow! Thank you so much! The last one is very true, I love the high voltage but after a couple of burnt attys i really havent been using it as much as i would like. I think dripping on a hot atty is something i had done in the past and now know thats bad. Appreciate the tips.

Thanks guys, My wife wants a penstyle so i might just order a kit for her and some extra attys. How is the shipping from that supplier? Its in china right?

BestEcig is a great supplier. Their BE equipment is generally interchangeable with DSE equipment. At least the BE112 and 801 parts work together.

Some commercially available high voltage battery packs may need to be tweaked to insure proper connection of the center conductors between the atomizer and battery connector. For example, the Super-T (801 version) was developed to operate with the 801 atomizer. I had to make an easy tweak to my Super-T to work with the BE112. Just be aware that there is an outside chance you might also see this.

I had the same problem. Luckily, Rick from atmosusa threw in a rn4081 to 510 adapter, and I've had better luck with that atty. Rick also told me he had some high voltage 510's on order which should stand up to 6v vaping a little better. Eastmall out of the People's Republic has some hv attys on sale for a reasonable price...I'll let you know if they're worth a flip or not.

I also tried one of the wife's 14500 batteries from her dse905 on my copper, and to heck with that! After 6v, it was like sucking on a straw!

Atmos is now offering the copper special edition 2 which comes with the 510 hv atty and cartridge; there's one left as of last night. I'm tempted to snag it, but my copper is so robust, I really can't justify getting another one.
