Auguse Kwafoo is an MTL atomizer developed by Auguse in collaboration with Adult Tribe. It's essentially the more MTL-focused sibling of the Radiator, another Auguse atom released in late 2023 that gained solid popularity—so much so that its unique airflow system even inspired two German modders. This unit was sent to me for free by the shop MoreVaping. I’m not affiliated with them and I don’t receive any payment.

It has a 22 mm diameter and is made from high-quality 316 stainless steel with a polished finish. The weight is excellent for an atomizer in this price range—57 grams without the stainless steel drip tip, which adds another 5 grams. The stated capacity is 4 ml, but that doesn’t take into account the fairly wide chimney, and as we’ll see later, the actual usable capacity ends up being around 3.5 ml.
It comes in a black box, with Auguse's contact info printed on the back. As a modder, Auguse is very active in the MTL scene, releasing at least two or three atomizers each year.

Inside the box, along with the Auguse Kwafoo, you’ll find a spare tank made of highly transparent polycarbonate, with the same stated 4 ml capacity and identical dimensions to the pre-installed Pyrex one. There’s also a small bag containing a full set of air pins, provided in matching pairs of 0.8 mm, 1.0 mm, and 1.2 mm, plus a completely closed pin in case you want to seal off one of the two airflow holes. The 0.9 mm pins come pre-installed. Lastly, you get a selection of spare O-rings.

The stainless steel drip tip weighs 5 grams and has a 3.5 mm bore. At the base, there are three small heat-dissipating fins. It’s a solid MTL drip tip. The connection is standard-sized, and as a drip tip enthusiast, I’ve tested quite a few—everything fits flush without needing to swap out the O-ring.

The main selling point—and what sets this atomizer apart from most RTAs on the market—is its airflow system. First introduced with the Radiator, also developed by Auguse, this design has already inspired several well-known modders. It features an air pin with 10 airflow holes (don’t be misled by the number—it’s still a 100% MTL atomizer). Just to clarify right away: the airflow is "fixed", meaning that if you slightly loosen the airpin without fully tightening it down, you can get a slightly less restricted draw. However, the threading isn’t designed to be used that way, as it ends up feeling a bit wobbly.

The air pin fits into what is essentially the chimney, leaving a small gap that allows the airflow to pass through. As you'll see, the air pin threading is actually longer than the chimney itself, which means it can be unscrewed even with a full tank of liquid.
It really depends on how you choose to classify it. While technically a top airflow system, it delivers all the benefits of a side airflow atomizer—the coil is hit from the side—resulting in a truly excellent draw.

The Kwafoo’s tank section, in all its parts. The optional plastic tank is very well made, once installed, it almost looks like Pyrex thanks to its completely clear finish. Both tanks are listed as having a 4 ml capacity, but the actual usable volume is closer to 3.5 ml.
There are no threads on the tank itself; the seal relies entirely on the chimney threading and two O-rings.

Refilling is done exclusively from the bottom, with plenty of space, even when using twisted-cap bottles. You can also spot the two juice inlets that feed liquid through the drivers. Once in contact with the cotton, they allow for proper saturation. One of the advantages of this system is that it helps prevent burnt liquid contamination, similar to how drippers work, but with the added benefit of having a full tank.
On the chamber, just below the threading where the chimney screws in, you can see the gap where air reaches the air pins. On the tank section, the gap created between the actual chimney and the air pin, where the pin slides in and channels the airflow—is also visible.

The chamber-to-deck seal is handled by three O-rings (two of which are visible in the photo), perfectly sized and seated. The internal machining of the chamber doesn’t cut into them—a minor issue reported with the Radiator, but fully resolved by Auguse on the new Kwafoo.
The connection between the two parts is keyed, and easy to align thanks to a small notch engraved on the outside of the chamber, which lines up with a matching notch on the deck. Just above it, you'll find "Auguse" engraved, with "Adult Tribe" on the opposite side.

A first look at the deck with its four posts, even though it’s a single-coil design, and the interior of the chamber. The Kwafoo features a rectangular reduction due to its pure MTL design, whereas the Radiator had a slightly larger one. You can see one of the juice drivers, which, when in contact with the cotton, feeds it with liquid. It’s also clear that there’s only one position for the coil, as it needs to fit into that specific reduction.

The chamber reduction can be removed by pressing it from above using ceramic tweezers or any plastic tool; I would avoid using steel objects. The reduction also houses the two fixed juice drivers, which allow the liquid to be fed into the cotton, as well as the two airflow holes to channel air to the coil. Therefore, it’s not just an accessory for MTL vaping, but a crucial component for the proper functioning of the Kwafoo.

Once removed, the chamber reduction reveals the two O-rings that ensure the seal, along with the one at the base, while the center is where the airflow pin/top cap screws in. The air pin is engraved with its various sizes, in pairs: 0.8, 0.9, 1.0, and 1.2 mm. The seal is again handled by O-rings found in the spare parts, which need to be inserted.
Important: when reassembling the reduction, ensure that the air pins protrude as shown in the photo, where the chamber is placed next to the deck. If the air pins are recessed into the chamber, the quality of the draw will suffer.

The most important aspect when tightening the coil for the first time is to check how high it actually sits. Those two posts are meant to hold the cotton in place. If you use them as a reference for positioning the coil jig, the coil will sit too low, and the airflow won’t hit it correctly, resulting in a harsh draw. The legs should be tightened gently to raise the coil by about 1 mm compared to its position when resting on the cotton holders.
To properly check the height, remove the chamber reduction and place it on the deck without the air pin to get a true sense of the coil's height. This step only needs to be done once; once you’ve understood the correct height, it’s very easy to replicate it.

Be careful not to raise the coil too much, as you risk it touching the upper corner of the chamber.
The cotton wicks, on a 2.25 mm coil, are already high enough to receive liquid from the juice drivers. The cotton posts hold the cotton in place, so there’s no need to press it inside. To trim the wicks, simply place the scissors parallel to the external cotton posts and cut. There’s no need to leave or drop the cotton down.

On the bottom, you’ll find the Auguse logo, the serial number, and the Kwafoo name engraved.
Lastly, using a flathead screwdriver, you can unscrew the steel pin (without the gold plating) to release the positive post. There’s a notch that seems designed to accommodate an O-ring, but the insulator is already installed inside the 510 pin, so there’s no need to add another one, as the coil readings are stable and precise.

Trying the Kwafoo, after years of knowing Auguse, was fun both for the novelty of the airflow system and for its ease of use. The liquid flow is very steady thanks to the cotton posts positioned at the ideal height. Getting the perfect draw requires a bit of trial and error, but once you figure it out, building is easy. The flavor production is definitely old-school, appreciated by long-time vapers used to the small chambers of the early cotton RTA’s that offered good flavor clarity.
For those who want to start rebuilding and don’t want to spend too much, since tools also need to be bought, the Kwafoo is an excellent budget atomizer to begin with. Lastly, the airflow system is a nice innovation that has already inspired other European modders.
