A couple of weeks ago, I was notified that I won a vapeonly Aura Mini starter kit from Heaven Gifts in a contest. Received the package last week and finally got around to opening it and trying it out. I've been vaping on high powered box mods (LiPo, single 18650, dual 18650) with subohm tanks and have recently put away the tanks and have gone strictly to vaping on RDA's and RDTA's. A setup like this is so far out of the norm for me, I didn't think that I would like it. I was pleasantly surprised.
The packaging is very clean and neat. Well built and padded box in a paper sleeve with a clean picture of the mod on it. The mod is available in black, silver and gold. I received the silver and I have to say that it looks very sleek and elegant. The battery is 1450 mah and the tank holds 2 ml of juice. The marketing for the setup claims that it doesn't leak, no spit back, and no dry hits because it claims to use temp control coils. The kit includes both a 0.5 ohm coil and a 0.33 ohm coil. It claims that the 0.33 ohm coil fires at 33 watts and the 0.5 ohm coil varies between 21 to 35 watts. There is also a 1 ohm coil that is good for mouth to lung hits. The thick ring in the top hardware is a hidden air flow control and the movement is very smooth.
Unlike almost every other tank, I can believe their claim about zero leaks. The bottom of the tank is sealed. The tank is top fill and it is super easy to fill. The coil screws into the chimney, which is attached to the top hardware. So you fill your juice right into the tank, and not have to worry about dripping the juice down the side to avoid getting juice into the chimney. You fill the juice up to the top of the juice level viewing window, then you insert the coil into the tank. When it is screwed down, the coil then contacts the bottom of the tank and makes the electrical contact to the 510 connector. The kit comes with two drip tips, one is a black plastic tip that is offset to the side (that is how they achieve the zero spitback) and a standard metal drip tip with a bunch of extra o-rings. The black offset drip tip makes the unit look like a recorder.
The battery has no adjustments whatsoever. Just the standard 5 clicks to turn on and 5 clicks to turn off. I screwed the 0.5 ohm coil in, filled up the tank with some 6 mg juice (the highest that I have, I normally vape 3 mg juice in my drippers), put the tank onto the battery and then plugged the battery in to charge and allow the juice to work its way into the coil. After a couple of hits and the taste of new cotton disappeared. Flavor is a tad muted, but the vapor production is really good. Vapor volume and density is on par with other subohm tanks. This is a great starter setup for anyone who is just starting out and want something that is super easy to use and to refill, and would be too self-conscious to be holding a big box mod.
