I read somewhere about it not being a good idea to stash away mods with internal batteries
It is okay to store them but the internal batts will not last indefinitely even if not used. I remember having some joyetech eRoll kits w/internal batts and left in a drawer the battery pack inside "swelled". The other one was somewhat weaker after a while.
so I bought two provari minis @ $35 each because they are my favorite.
Provari isn't actually my favorite as I find them quite heavy to "hoist" but for long haul and dependability, you can't beat it.
Like retired said, there is no one mod for everything. There are other mods with replaceable 18650 batts however you still have ot have a mod that will last, that means circuit boards lasting, 510 connectors not getting wobbly or stripped w/age, etc.
Nothing is made to last *forever*. Most of the chinese type mods, I'd say 1 year to 1.5 years, maybe 2.
That's not a knock, it's fine w/me. Just saying that that is what you get.
I would probably get a Joyetech VTC Mini at this stage, seems very dependable compared to everything else in that particular class. JMHO. I didn't like the Pico, it is a bit "fat" width wise in my hand which I expected due to it's very short height. Something always has to be sacraficed in the size somewhere. Shorter will be fatter, longer will be thinner, etc.
IT all depends on what you are used to. I really enjoyed having an istick mini 20 and 30 watt for a while, it fit my hand nicely, but the rattling button (or whatever it is that rattles in those things) just drove me nuts, I was coming from provari and reos and used to SOLID. I did not expect the istick to last forever and they don't, I just couldn't handle the "cheap" feeling of them and then some of the models seemed to die or catch on fire, etc. No thanks.
I find provari a little on the heavy side, not something I relish "tossing in my purse" but that is just me. However, I keep one around at home because I know it is utterly dependable in every way and solid. I do know it is safe. I don't ever worry about the house burning down with one of those.
I myself have never found the perfect vape. And if I did, it wasn't something that would last for 3-5 years.
You spend $22 or so, you are getting a $22 peice of hardware. The snap on tool screwddriver I use to take laptops apart costs more than that. And there's no electronics in it.
