I have the iStick 50w, and love it! I have no experience with the eGrip 20w, so my comments should be taken with that in mind.

Personally, I wouldn't want to be limited to 20w, especially with all of the great new Sub Ohm tanks that are coming out!

Even if you aren't ready to try sub ohming right now, why limit your ability to upgrade in the (near?) future?

The iStick 5ow, with a Kanger Sub Tank Mini on top is a fantastic combo!

Good luck!

I've seen and tried both and personally, I would recommend the iStick 50w. For me, the downside of eGrip is the build in atomizer and a few shops that I went to had customers feedback that there is a lot of leaking problems. Also, I like to play with different mods and tanks (I have 2 mods and 3 tanks). And I think u already have an answer to what you want and need confirmation. So, I support the iStick 50w!! :)

Thank you, I was leaning with the istick to be honest, I've had the 20/30w one for ages with no issues, (until it got lost yesterday) so I have'nt been keeping up-to-date since! looking forward to sub ohming too! Again thanks :)

Hi all, Im new to this! probably posting on place etc, but Ill ask anyway in hope, I'm stuck between the elaf 50w istick (just lost my 30w) or the joytech egrip 20w one, I'd go with the 1st choice but like the idea of the build in atomizer in the joytech!!! (I have to order now to get b4 weekend) help.

100% the iStick 50w. My dad had an eGrip, 2 weeks later it broke, more specifically the charging port pushed in. My dad liked it so I got him a second one, 4 days later it quick working all together. Customer service for warranty is nonexistent with Joyetech and I know have 2 useless eGrip's laying in a drawer collecting dust.

After all the stories I've heard about the iStick 50w auto firing, personally I would stay clear of them, I just picked up a 70w IPV mini 2 for around the same price as the iStick.

I've heard numerous people who've had their iStick 50w since it's release, and haven't had any issues whatsoever, myself included. Haven't heard "all the stories" that you're talking about...

Also, it wouldn't be the same price, as he would need to purchase two 18650's and a charger, unless he already has one, which, as a newbie, is unlikely...

I'd suggest the OP read reviews of the iStick 50 in the iStick 50 owners thread, and then make his mind up... but again, I would figure it'll cost around $15 for a pair of batteries plus the cost of a charger, which are expenses the iStick wouldn't incur.

both are really great devices but two different worlds. Istick 50 is great with the right subohm tank, egrip is awesome because of it's looks and size and the fact that the tank is built in. The rebuildable deck options is another thing that the egrip has going for it and I have seen that perform really well. All in all, like I said, two whole different worlds. The built in tank you could either see as a pro or a con, where as the istick is just a device you can use whatever the hell you want on it.

Shel, a quick google search will yield plenty of iSticks that have autofired until the battery vents, Eleafs north american rep has even made statements regarding a faulty chip in units manufactured before March of this year.... because your friends are fine, doesn't mean they all are. But if that's a risk you would like in your home, that's your call.

Oh ya, the Mini 2 takes 1 18650 (can grab a 25r for 6$, huge extra, I know) and has pass through charging if you don't have a charger handy.

I bought 2 istick 50s as soon as they were available. While I have not (thank God) had any auto-firing problems, I was down to 1 after about 2 weeks. My first one stopped working after what I considered a pretty insignificant drop on linoleum. The second one has fallen several times and I've been lucky so far. If you fet one get a silicone case for it. It will at least offer some protection.
