Interesting poll...

1. Cotton

2. Clear juices...fruity menthol, absinthe. 65/35 pg/vg 6mg

3. 8 - 12 mls a day

4. 1.2 ohm micro-coil (28 gauge at 1/16 dia. 10ish wraps.

Re-wick every three to four days. Re-coil when I get the urge to try something different. Coils will speculatively last weeks...months maybe?

1: Wick type - 100% cotton, sterile
2: Juice type - Usually clean vaping juices (Teaberry is my adv)
3: MLs per day - 5 to 15 (more on off days, less on work days)

I rebuild my coil about once a week but that's more out of just liking to tinker. Not sure how long a 26g micro would last before it would NEED to be changed. One day I may find out :p

I replace my wick between a couple times a day (if I'm feeling finicky) to once every 3 days or so. Takes about 2 min from start to finish and I keep a pinch of cotton tucked inside my REOs so I can toss in a new wick anytime I wanna.

This is kind of a poll. Im looking for information on how long you go before rebuilding your coil and or wick on your RBA.

1: Wick type
2: Juice type
3: MLs per day

1: cotton
2: unflavored nic PG only
3: 10 to 12 because i chain vape

i order pre-wrapped 2.0 coils and will keep using it however long it lasts. Cotton wick changed daily.

This is kind of a poll. Im looking for information on how long you go before rebuilding your coil and or wick on your RBA.

1: Wick type Cotton
2: Juice type NETs
3: MLs per day 3-5ml

I replace my cotton wick daily (usually). Because of the type of juice that I use, my coil gunks up quickly. When I replace the cotton for the wick, I dry burn the coil to get the gunk off. I get about 1 week out of a coil, depending upon how aggressive I get with pulling the cotton out of the coil, and whether I used too much cotton when I built the wick. Using too much cotton results in it being a little tight in the coil.

Edit: cleaned up formatting.

1: Cotton
2: DIY 100% VG Premium M-Type 13% flavoring @ 20mg nic strength(dark yellow color)
3: 4-6 ml

I change my wick every other day cause this juice gunks my coils up quick! The coil usually lasts a week to two weeks depending on if I feel froggy and want to make a new one. I always dry burn when changing wicks.

Cinni Mini
1: Cotton
2: DIY 75% VG/ 25% PG Cinnamon Red Hots 13% flavoring @ 20mg nic strength (Light orangish color)
3: 1-2 ml a day

This wick usually lasts 4-5 days and my coil is 3 weeks old. I Always dry burn the coil when changing wicks.

Looking forward to trying unflavored nic when I get my VV Grand tomorrow (Hopefully!).

1: Wick type

1. Cotton (changed approx every 10-12'ish days (see next point))
2. 8mg 60/40 PG/VG - unflavored (hence the cotton lasts much longer)
3. 6-8 ml per day

Grand #1 -
1. cotton
2. DIY 50/50 VG/PG @ approx 12ml after flavoring, caramel/honey tobacco
3.8-10 ml/day

This juice is my coil-killer so I dry-burn/rewick daily

Grand#2 -
1. cotton
2. 50/50 VG/PG 18ml unflavored base
3. 8-10ml/day

This is my ADV about half the time I guess. I'm not sure how long a set-up will last w/this juice because I've not HAD to recoil/rewick it. I've done it a time or two it 'just because'.

1: Wick type - 2.5 mm silica
2: Juice type - 100% VG at 20mg
3: MLs per day - 6-8ml

Recoil: If I decide to dry burn once a week, they last roughly a month, but they would probably go even longer (I get bored :) )

ETA: I don't generally rewick at all with the silica, but I have managed to do it with a floss threader. (I wrap coils either on the folded silica, or have done some on 14 ga blunt needle (those are the ones I'm able to rewick, but I usually don't bother)

good thread here as im still kinda new to rba's and learning the difference between bad wick and bad coil. I change my cotton daily cause the last thing I want is to be stranded with no wick. I do like the idea of stuffing a little cotton in the reo as a just in case. so when you guys say you dry burn the coil to get the gunk off, you literally just pull the wick out and fire it? no other cleaning needed? I notice after a day or my coil is basically black and the gunk covers the coil

That is correct. Remove the old wick and fire away. I blow the ash off, re-wick and I am back in business with a (like) new coil.

Edit: Use eye protection. You might get bits of hot juice flying off the coil when firing it.

Nice edit about flying bits! I had balls of fire pop off one coil and was lucky to not have it land on me! I don't know if it was burnt juice or little pieces of cotton. I did learn to keep the RBA at arms length when firing!
