I used to prefer the 1.7 Smoktech Resurrectors on my Grand....... modified an Igo-L to bottom feed and it worked great but I always ended up back to the simple carto (probably because of the draw).

I've been using an A7 for the past week and it has the perfect draw for me. Same draw resistance as a carto. 1.5 ohm microcoil with cotton yarn.

This goes against everything I was told. Everyone said a bigger air hole would help with flavor. So I very slightly openend them up and flavor did get a little bit better, but Im not willing to go any bigger.

Yes and no ..... it depends on the ohms your at ...... with a 1.3 and above though the stock chalice hole should have given you better flavor ....

Anything under that and your starving it of air and it needs opening up a bit to get the full flavor.

I vaped both my chalice attys with the stock hole for along time maybe a year then I opened them up to .055 .....
I like the draw better but flavor took a hit at 1.3 ohms so i build them at 1.1 ohms sometimes if I'm feeling flavor starved.

I have two more chalice attys coming in a few days and I am leaving them stock without a doubt. Can't wait for that full flavor kick at 1.3 again.

I've tried to help on your previous posts and have no idea anything else to suggest.

All I can say is I could build a coil blindfolded with one hand behind my back with a shoe string and scrap wire that would likely taste better than an HH or any other Cisco/ high end atty ....... And I mean a lot better. Weird.

What you might be finding is you like the flavor better on the HH357 because its different and more what you got used to.
Just because its different doesn't mean its producing better ..... Just that you like that taste better.

Could that be it ????

Every juice tastes different on different attys and builds.

I have a mental list of how I like them .....

Some flavors are more to my liking on mesh than silica, and some the exact opposite

Could be that you just got used to the flavor on an HH-357 and thats the way you like it to taste.
If you had got used to it on some rba build first it might taste wrong on the HH after a year on rba's

Just thinking out loud ......

For me though even if I found that RBA's gave me only 50% the flavor of a stock atomizer I would still use the RBA's

Its gotta taste 1000% better than those dam stinky sticks tasted.

I can only describe it like this.

The HH357 to me tastes like the first few pulls an a new carto. Back when I used cartos. The 357 just lasted longer with that great flavor. I know cartos arent as popular as the were, but to me, they taste great for the first day or so. I still keep a few new cartos on hand for juice testing.

I guess I worded the title incorrectly. I shouldve said "tried" a HH357 rather than "Went back". The thing is, I dont want to rely on HH357s, I want to use RBAs! I simply find it astonishing Im the only one having issues with flavor on RBAs.

I guess after this HH357 dies, Ill go back to the RBAs. But for now, Im not looking forward to that day.

The only thing I havent extensively tested was using a different juice with all setups ie; carto, HH357, RBA.

I guess Ill give that a try and see if its just the juice...

If you are committed to that idea, I'd like to suggest you do it with a juice you either aren't familiar with or at least haven't used in a long time. Your tongue has some expectations about your favorites.

Though I never got used to the hh.357 on my REOs, that's what I used exclusively on my VVPV and my triple-V for a long time. I can't say too much about rebuildables because I don't use them (have tried a couple owned by other people but have never even put either of mine on a PV - my experience is very limited). Lots of people I've read on ECF and elsewhere made claims about this or that commercial atty having as good or superior flavor. Every one of those claims was untrue. --- Using the hh.357 as a benchmark for flavor, any atty has a very high bar to clear.

I think it could be the fact that OP is using a VV Grand might have something to do with it. But what do I know.
Ive used 357s on Grands and Minis with the same results. I just like the VV for consistent power.
If RC10 likes the 357, he like the 357.. Case closed. RBA's don't have to be for everyone..
I do like HH357s but Im just trying to figure out how to get better performance out of my RBAs so I dont have to use 357s!

I want to use RBAs for obvious reasons but for a LONG time now I cant get the good flavor Im used to. Everything else about them is great!

I agree. didn't want to sound snide. i get great flavor from Rbas ..I think builds and differences in Rbas and air flow play a huge factor in how much flavor is achieved.
