+1 Mistress Nomad,

Found out about e-cigs from a friend and decided to try them. After 30 years of burning down a pack a day, I stopped analogs the day my kit arrived. I wasn't even planning on quitting and decided to have an analog after day 4. It didn't taste the same at all, it was a cross between a wet ashtray and cat urine. After 2 puffs I was done and gave the rest of my Marlboro Golds to my neighbor. He just ordered a starter kit for vaping....classic.

I did get caught between Cart shipments, but puffed a couple of Cigars to carry me over instead of lighting up any cigarettes.

Wow... These are great testimonials and congrats to all of you. It seems as if most folks cut over fully after the first month or sooner. Heck the day they got their PV seems to be a really common theme! :D

I am now officially on day two of having my PV and think I'm running into the issues as TWolf, "First few days, I smoked 1 or 2 cigs... mainly to because I'd ordered a lower nic content then I really needed. Once I got some stronger juice, that was it! Haven't thought about going back to analogs in over 5 months now. That's after 33 years at 2+ PAD."

So yesterday I ordered a high Nic flavor sampler pack with 18mg NIC and also got an extra bottle of VG (36mg nic) to increase the nic. I figure a good mix will increase the nic and add some more vapor.

Again, great stories here and good positive results...

Thanks all

I quit the day I got my starter kit in.

Whenever I wanted a real cig, I told myself the vaporizer is my cig now, and its have that or nothing at all. Worked well for me.

and the liquids make a HUGE difference in taste and vapor. I got some free ones from the place I bought my stuff from, it was okay. Then I ordered some juice from Vaporbomb and its amazing! I actually prefer the vapors over cigs now. And its funny I can smell how bad my smoking co workers smell now, I couldnt do that when I was a smoker too.

hah. same here. i can totally smell those smokers now. i caught someone's breath by accident and was disgusted. i smoked for 15 years. i wonder what people thought of me during that time...

I smoked my last analog when the battery for my e-cig was charging. The amazing thing was that I vaped just to play with my new toy. I still had 6 cartons of cigs waiting to smoke and I had no plans on trying to quit until I was out of cigs. Luckily I was able to sell those cigs! I do, however, still have a pack of cigs (also in the freezer), because after 40 years of smoking I still don't trust that I can do this. 16 days analog free and counting...

Don't count the ones you do smoke, count the ones you didnt!

Thank you!! I was feeling like something of a failure because I was not one of the lucky ones that picked up my eGo and put down my Bic. I have gone from 2 pack/day to 2 a day and was kind pleased with myself, but admit to starting to feeling a bit down because 'everyone else' seems to have been able to completely walk away from their tobacco habit. I've got my nicotine level just fine but I still find myself itching periodically for a cigarette. I try to rationalize that to restrict something too much is to ensure failure but I was still feeling guilty about it. I think I may print out the quote above in large letters and tape it across the bathroom mirror, using you as my Stuart Smalley Daily Affirmation.

:2c: This is my first post. I've been lurking here for 3 weeks or so and finally decided to jump in. After much research on this forum and a recommendation from a co-worker, I ordered the eGo starter kit and some sample juices. It finally arrived 4 days later. I charged up the batts, juiced up the cartridge and haven't had an analog since. That was only 9 days and 3 hours ago.

I can't say that I have really quit yet, but considering I started smoking 42 years ago and have been 2 plus pad, pretty good for me.

I just need to find that most delicious juice now. Seems like they start out tasting great, but the next day not so much.

Took me about 4 days and I wasn't planning to quit. I was just looking for something to stretch out my analog habit. Thought I could maybe use these to cut back to 1 or 2 packs a day. (yeah, I was a 3PAD smoker). Funny thing was, within 4 days, I quit. I still have 2 full cartons of analogs, just sitting there, getting stale. I may have them bronzed:ohmy:

Had my last smoke drivign home from work. Tooka nap, woke up went to mail box and that was it.
I was hyped up to quit, got my self geared up for it before I ordered. Was just going thru the motions with cigarettes while waiting for the kit to arrive.
I too chain vaped for about 2 weeks. Now its off and on, somen days light, some days heavy.
Give it time, considering now fast you can actually cut down let alone actually stop smoking, and compare that to how long yourself and/or others have been smoking, I cinsider it a more than fair trade off.
Don't make the same mistake I did at first, stressing myself out, I had to start exercising a little patience, good advice for anyone just starting out, imho.

I think you are doing great, its going to be different for everyone. The most important thing is that you started, and currently you are past the first steps.
Being here shows the commitment you have made.
Keep us posted on your progress.
