So insisting I will wait for Imeo's next run of UFS, I managed to get a new (or damn near as possible) AVSv2 courtesy of my buddy Fright in a swap. I wanted the iAtty but my disability makes successful coil prep nearly impossible so what the heck, right?
I noticed that Isaac over at Ikenvape has an oddity of sorts - 901 LR (2.0) cartomizers. I asked him about getting "naked" steel ones as the only listed are black powder coated and then sealed with a high gloss plastic coating. He sent his regrets but I ordered 10 to try anyway.
Both the AVS and the cartos hit today so I grabbed one up. Rather than use a buffer until I knew the depth of the coating, I used some of the 3M burgundy colored buffing pad material we used to touch up stainless steel gun finishes.
It did take about 15 minutes so a buffer is advised as I will be doing for the rest. After assembling the unit and filling with my go to juice, I fired her up. I know the UFS and iAtty are newer and arguably better technology but wow! Even at 3.7 (AW P18650 2600) this thing hits like a tank!
Best 3.7 vaping I have ever done bar none. All this to say if you still use a 901 with your GG gear, you may want to give these cartos a try. Horizontal coil, true 901 spec (side vent hole so no punching required) and super flavor. It definitely is worth a try and breathes new life into the AVSv2 for those of us still using them!
