AW Batteries

So many people say on here that AW batteries are the best. Then there are others who say that they buy a battery, of the right type, only to find it is too short or two long. I have a Silver Bullet that came with two Ultra Fire 18650 (2600 mah) batteries that fit perfectly. I also have one of those little AA plastic box mods that takes an Ultra Fire 14500 (900 mah) battery.
Since AW batteries are so highly recommended I'd like to find a national chain that I could take both mods to that sells AW protected batteries. That way I could actually try them in my mods to make sure they fit properly. How about Sears, Lowes, or Radio Shack? Anyone know where I could physically try a battery??????

I don't know of any B and M stores that sell AW's, but I have "one of those little AA plastic box mods" and use AW IMR 14500's in it and they fit just fine. They're actually a mm or so shorter than the Trustfire flames that I've got.

Black label AWs will always fit. Unlike crappy fire there made from one source so theres no size difference between AWs. Ultra/trust fire are the ones that have size and counterfiet issues.

The AW IC will be the same size as any protected battery. The Aw IMR highdrains are a bit shorter, but I use the 18650s in my Silver Bullet with no problems at all.

If you don't have any issues with the Ultras size then then AW will fit. If anything AW might be a mm or so shorter in comparison and they are more consistent in size. The fire batteries can vary a little depending on the run and where they are sourced from. AW isn't sold through any national chain that I know of, Lighthound and SuperTManufacturing are great places to get them and if you have any issues they will take care of you.

i use the aw imr's 1600mah's in my omega, they are shorter as teej said, but nothing that causes any rattling or anything like that. nice and snug just like an ultrafire

Hi Katy, don't know if you've found Lighthound yet, but they are on Hwy518 in Pearland. It's a bare bones store, as most of their business is internet, but they gave me no trouble finding what I needed when I bought my AW's there.
