AW Batteries

Hey Guys,

So I'm going to order a Provari this Friday and was wondering if there is a place to get the AW batteries and charger cheaper than the Provape website. I'm sure there is so I figured I would reach out to the forum since you always give me the best advice.

amazon maybe. i found a 2-pack of 14500 trustfires on there for $2.85. of course this was after i spent $8+ but whatever.

You'll want to stick with the IMR chem batteries, so check out Super T Manufacturing as they have pretty good prices and carry Pila chargers.

I haven't looked recently at provapes prices. The two vendors who often get mentioned for good pricing, fast shipping, and overall good buying experience on AW and decent chargers are super-t manufacturing and RTD vaper. I've purchased from RTD recently and I was very happy with the service.

They have one of the better charging profiles of the charger spec's I have seen. Is it necessary, no. Do I like them, yes. I've had one for nearly 2 years and I still like it. Gave away my others...

Not a provari here but I got my 18650s from obtronic.

High Drain Panasonic CGR18650CH 10A 18650 Rechargeable Battery Cell IMR was the recommended battery.

+1 for the Panasonics. They are the best performing high drain on the market. A couple of CGRs and an Xtar WP2 charger and you're all set.

IIRC, AW batteries are usually Panasonics…they're just tested by some guy and rebranded. I could be wrong.

Batteries are confusing. Not the chemistry, sizes, high/low-drain, etc.. Just the branding.

Yep, that's the way I understand it too. AW does a "sort" of Panasonics and then labels the ones that make his cut and sells the others to other vendors to label as they would.

You're spending like…a couple hundred bucks on a Mod. Why bother saving $2 on batteries?

ProVape will never recommend the CGR18650, but they sell AW so why would they recommend using a battery they don't sell?

Most people don't buy the CGRs to save a few bucks. People buy Trustfire to save a few bucks. With the CGR you are buying better performance, that just happens to be a lower price. Search around a bit and you'll see that it is the opposite of a cheap AW wannabe.

Well, I didn't know if there would be a significant difference, but $2.00 isn't a big deal. I'll probably just stick to what Provape recommends.
