Hello I'm thinking about getting a box mod that uses 14500 batteries. My question is are these protected batteries, or the newer safer batteries at ikenvape's site? AW IMR-14500 High Drain

IMR or LiMn are safer chemistry and are not protected. AW batteries (in general) are presently the best battery money can buy for consistency and performance.

I recently received a variable voltage box mod from bigblue30 and those are the batteries I have been using for the past two weeks. I do not know all of the chemistry stuff but they have worked great for me.
