Oh wise battery wizards. I have 2 AW LifePO4's 3v that have never been used on a PV. I had them on a 3v charger for quite awhile. At some time the charger was unplugged while batteries still in.

The oterh day I tried to use them in a PV and I got nothing so I figured they discharged. I put them on the charger and the light never turned green after a very long period.

I pulled them and both were warm but one was very hot. I tried charging one at a time and they were just acting strange. One of them, when I put in the charger, the LED didn't turn to red, it went out ????

I checked them with a volt meter. One was 3.5v and one was over 4.

Are theses bad now ? Did leaving them on the charger kill them. I kinda of leary to use them now.

Charger = Tenergy Li-on RCR123a Charger Model PH-123a-3.0A

Did LifePo4's require a special charger ?

I could be wrong here but..

The AW LiFePO4's are 3.2 volt batteries and require a 3v/3.2v charger.

The Tenergy Li-Ion charger is a 3.7v charger and puts out something like 4.5v to the battery. Tenergy's are regulated down from a 3.7v battery to 3v.

That charger very well could have messed up the batteries.
