Awful, Awful Taste.

first of all, this is a great forum. I have been reading for about a week, trying to learn what I can. Until today, I really didn't have a need to make a post, but now I have a few questions.

I bought a starter kit 2 weeks ago. It came with 2 complete e-cigarettes. I'm not sure what number they are, but they look like regular 100's cigarettes. So far they have been working great, and I have gone from a 2 pack a day smoker to around 3 to 4 cigarettes a day. I have even been breathing better. I have smoked for about 20 years, and have never been able to quit, this is the closest I have come and I was doing pretty good until today.

My starter kit came with 10 Marlboro/medium flavored cartridges. I knew thath would not last me too long, so when I ordered the kit, I also ordered a 30ml bottle of Johnson Creek Original smoke juice. The juice is not too bad, but I have read that the tenessee cured was better, so I ordered a 30ml bottle of that last weem and the Johnson Creek sampler. I figured why not try some new flavors and see what I like.

The shipment srrived today, and I was excited to try them. Well, what I found out is that every single flavor is Horrible!
I can't even get the taste out of my mouth! They even smell horrible. Just thinking about it makes me nauseous. It came with a little bottole of the original, which I have already been using, and even that tastes really bad. It's like some chemical/burnt plastic taste that just won't go away, and like I said, you can even smell it in the juice. What the heck did they do? They must have changed something.

I have smoked quite a few analogs today, just to try and make that taste go away. Now I think the flavor is stuck in my atomizer too. I wish I could get my money back from JC, I think they sent me a bad batch or something, and I think they have ruined my e-cigs as well. The taste won't go away. I am going to have to try and find someone else who sells smoke juice, but now I am worried that whatever chemical is being used at Johnson Creek, might also be being used at other places too.

I just want something that actually tastes like smoking a real cigarette like a marlboro or something, but I don't think I can handle that nasty taste again. 8-o

Does anyone have any advice, what tastes like a real cigarette, but without that horrible or underlying aftertaste?

Thanks

Contact the vendor and arrange to send it back.

Nothing will taste like a real cigarette, but most of the tobacco type flavors from most vendors are ok to good. After a short while real cigs taste like burnt crap in comparison.

I've found the 'Coke Soak' to be very good at removing bad tastes. Rinse in water, soak in cola (I do it for about an hour, but others say 8 hours) rinse, blow out the water, then dry. Once dry, prime with a few drops of juice and use as before. [This is the brief version, there is more detail if you look around the forum]

Here is something a few have tried, Shake the bottles up well and then smell them. Also they have tried leaving the cap off for a short while.
Are you using new carts? Prefilled but the filler cleaned? Or maybe blank carts that have never been filled until you did?
If the juice itself smelled this wouldn't help, but I got several carts that needed washing..not the filler, the whole cart! After I did that, things went back to normal. If the atomizer is has had burnt cart filler stuck to it, it will continue to taste awful until you clean it.
Hopefully some of that will help, if not just return the mess and start over!
Welcome to our world and ECF!

I got a bottle the other day that tasted awful too, reminded me of bacon fat, wet dog, or something, it was horrible. I honestly think it's whatever imitation smoke flavor they are using, sometimes they get too much in the mix or something, cause some people really like what they got. Write an email like I did and they will send you a return fed ex to send it back for a refund.

Accckkk,..... I feel your pain. I've only experienced it with the new carts that are supplied with some vendors. I started out with totally wicked liquid after that, (never wanting to experience horrid again). I have to say I have never gotten a bad liquid from them. I have tried several others since then. None compare so far.

The only exception from another supplier so far for me, being the flue curred here:e-liquid|e-juice|e-cigarette liquid series reccomended by trogg. I would say that it tastes like a new pack of analoge's smells. At least there is something analoge about it.

Summertime; maybe the juice got too hot somewhere along the way. Any discoloration, cloudiness or vinegar-like smell?

Or perhaps by chance you got some polyfill fibres burning on the atty at that time. Try the cola rinse then check again. If still not good, arrange to send back.
Kinabaloo i just got two bottles today from JC. This is what happened i first took a used cart that was pretty much empty and put a few drops in. It really was horrible, both flavors didn't taste like tobacco or the other one that is espresso. They both tasted like burning hair. Then i tried on another cart and washed out the whole thing and dried it out and the same thing, the cotton was clean and the same thing none tasted like advertised, the reason i went with them was all the rave reviews here then I saw a long thread about them changing recipies recently.

Just to be sure i put in an older cart that was fine with just tobacco flavor some of that awfull taste lingered for a bit but went away after a few draws.

Swear if i wanted to taste crap like that i would cut off some of my hair and toenail clippings and add some dead leaves on the lawn, roll it up and smoke it like a doobie then throw up.

If you order something wouldn't you expect it to taste like coffee or tabbacy? Both bottles tasted the exact same and they were shaken up first.

Hours after the the taste is still in my mouth and i'm going to take it back, I don't want to smoke michael jacksons burning hair.

Really it made me feel like puking. Btw both flavors tasted the exact same.

Someone said why did they change the formula when it worked before like coke did with the new coke and that was a disaster as you all know.

And please anyone don't say clean the atomizer, it tasted fine with a fresh cart with real tobacco smell right afterwards.

I'm not trying to harp one JC but that made me almost barf.

Think i will need to clean the atomizer, there is still a hint of that dead carcass scent with a hint of burning plastic. The atomizer must have some of that goop still in there so I'll have to do the rubbing alchohol clean method and blow it out. Sorry for the rant but i feel for the first poster that started this thread.

Nothing like getting something in the mail and it ends up a pure disappointment.

it's just the wig of your atties that melted. The best thing to do is buy new atties, remove the wig right away, and start using direct dripping method. I had the same problem.
coke clean might help, but depending on how badly the wig has already melted, it might not work.

btw, if it goes away for a second, that's just because the heat is taken up by the liquid to turn it into vapor. When the atty gets hotter, or when the liquid is almost vaped out, the plastic taste comes back
