Well, many moons ago I got into vaping (So long ago I had to go to a truck stop to get njoy products). Needless to say, I ultimately failed after quite some time at the attempt. Finally back and hoping for success this time around. Dug out all of my old Titan stuff that I was using before my failure and started using it a couple of days ago with some success (have cut my two pack a day for 49 years habit in half so far). Decided to try the new stuff since mine is so outdated, big mistake....got a SubVod and choked and coughed myself half to death with each drag. Yesterday I got a SubEnvy and put one of the old restricted cigarette holder type mouthpieces on it and am pretty happy with it (don't cough my .... off with it). So, wish me success this time around, maybe I can finally dump the habit.

Welcome back.

I know the feeling. I had that nicotine monkey on my back for 38 years.

Discovered Vaping almost 4 years ago, and been Nicotine free 13 1/2 months.

I would recommend you have two Atomizers with differerent strengths of nicotine.

Since 3 mg seems to be working get a 6 mg strength to vape thoss times when you MUST have a cigarette such cas with coffee in the morning and after dinner.

Having that stronger hit when you really really want a cigarette will help stick with Vaping

Welcome and glad you joined. Your not the only vaper that feels left behind, in my mind, it behooves the sellers to promote styles and devices that generate a higher profit margin(s).Some folks (not I) actually find the cloud chasing enjoyable, more power to them. I feel that all vaping is all good until scientifically proven detrimental. Unfortunately cloud chasing sometimes leads to unwelcome theatrics which are picked up by the ( ANTZ ) Anti Nicotine and Tobacco Zealots in this world and painted as evil/fool hearty/harmful to the country.

Welcome back, I to just came back to the would of vapor as well. I have just found the set up that works for me. I think it might be a good thing to go down to your local Vapor Shop. Tell them what your looking for. If the Shop is any good. <-- and they care for the people that come in for a alternative to analogs. I'm sure you will be able to find something. Vapor Tech ... has changed so much Back when I started .. the products couldn't wick VG that well .. and the juice was more PG than VG. A good shop will understand what your trying to do. And shouldn't try to push you into anything your not needing. Dropping you analog down to half is wonderful. However .. I would say don't push to fast. If you keep going down the road I'm sure that you will drop all analogs in time. " Welcome Back " <--

I too am getting ready to get back into vaping after a 5+ year hiatus and boy have things changed. Back when I was last involved (and obsessed, making my own mods out of snus tins) we had kr-808's, 510's, and 901's. Everything was about high volt mods. Cartomizers were the new hotness and low ohm attys were just being introduced. My preferred vape was on a 5 volt homemade mod with 510 cartomizers and painstakingly mixed PG/VG ratios to keep things wicking well -- being ever-so-careful not to burnout the atty.

Now I feel completely lost. Y'all talk about watts now, have tanks, your atomizers are tiny thimble looking things or multi-coiled beasts, and your devices have screens and they run firmware. I don't know what anything is any more. I don't know what's compatible with what. There're just so many different brands and seemingly no simple indicator of interchangeability between them and their parts. I at least see "510 threaded" sometimes and 18650 batts, which I understand and it brings back some nostalgia. Has that become the standard? I have much to learn, and probably just as much to unlearn.

Well there is plenty of information out there now on Battery safety and which 18650s are advisable to use and which are considered to be rewraps with inflated amp ratings. Check out Mooch's blog | E-Cigarette Forum for more information on that.

These days most atomizers are 510 threaded and most mods accept them. It seems like everything has become interchangeable making it easier to shop around and find something you'll like. Some attys are prefab coils in a tank while others can be rebuilt and others still must be built and rebuilt, what you choose is up to you.

Im assuming you're familiar with Ohms Law but if not check out Baditude's blog | E-Cigarette Forum This might help clear up any confusion regarding wattage as well.

@BrotherBob should be around soon with plenty of reading material! :thumb:

Welcome aboard and hope you stick around!

Hi and Welcome- glad that you are giving vaping another try! I quit my 30+ year smoking addiction by vaping just over 2 years ago! I slowly stepped down and then smoked non menthols instead of my favorite menthols and dual used for about 2 weeks- Then I set my quit date! Worked for me- and I stayed strong against those evil cigarettes that were calling my name and just stuck with vaping!
Yes I coughed in the beginning too- drink lots of water- and remember that quitting cigarettes will make you cough, as your lungs are clearing out the years of abuse and chemicals! Just take lighter puffs and sips of water.
It is all pretty common!
Stay Strong and Vape On!

Discovered replacement tips for those large bore ones that come with the units. Reduce the tube size and increase the draw needed to pull in the smoke which in turn reduces the vast volume of cloud you pull in. Still more than the old days....but no where close to what these other folks are blowing out. Lots better than when I tried to get back into it a couple of weeks ago. Oh, by the way, down to 3 on the nicotine and down to 10 or 12 analog cigs a day from the two packs a day a few weeks ago.
