Hey gang,
I tried vaping 3 years ago, and my general impression was "this is awesome, but the technology sucks." I was using the old disposable cartridges on the skinny cigarette-looking batteries, I think they were produced by several different manufacturers or at least sold by many different vendors under different names, but in general I looked forward to a battery life of an hour or so, cartridges that lasted 5-6 cigs' worth before tasting like burnt cotton, and a lot of hassle and trepidation ordering something I was inhaling from China.
My wife and I just had our first child, and she's been on my case for months about quitting smoking.... one day in aggravation I pulled the old e-cig kit out of the closet and fired up some 3-year old cartridges. The nicotine was probably completed degraded and they tasted even worse than when they were new, but they kept me off the analogs for 2 days, long enough to research the new tech and go invest in an Ego-T, which so far I've been enjoying, but I'm getting really curious about all the other options like clearomizers and LR attys, etc, that I can put on this kit....
So now I'm smoke-free for 17 days and counting, and while I haven't saved any money yet (cost of starter kit was about 2 months of cigarettes for me, and I'm finding if I buy e-liquid at my local smoke shop where I'm paying about $0.80/ml, I'm spending almost as much as I did on cigs every week) but I feel worlds better already, and the wife is happy, which means I'm happy!
I see the forum has grown a lot since I've been gone, but I'm looking forward to getting to know all the regulars again!
PS, one question I'm hoping someone can answer -- I used to have a profile image on all my posts... it still shows up on my profile page, but not on my posts anymore... is this just cuz I'm a n00b?
Thanks! Keep vaping!
