I joined the forum a few years ago but haven't really had a need to post, I've always been able to find the answers to my questions just by using the search. Now that I'm beginning to venture into DIY I'm finding I could use some interaction with other members. So, basically this post was mainly to get my post count up so I can post in the appropriate threads.

I started out using the Ego but quickly moved onto using VV/VW APV's with tanks and cartomizers which worked fine for me for years. Now I'm using the ipv II mini w/ Atlantis Aspire and it has been awesome. Better flavor and better vapor. But, this thing does use the juice, and at $12/15ml for the good stuff (that I can finally use) it gets expensive quick. Hence, the new DIY venture.

Any comments or input?

Thanks, Susan, for all the helpful links. I have been digging through the DIY ELiquid Forum for the past week and I think I may have hit most of the ones you mention but I'm glad you posted them here so I can refer back to them. I'm even already subscribed to BMV's Blog and the TFA thread . I've already got the eJuiceMeUp calc. on my computer with some recipes ready to go. I've got an order in a a few different places to get me started. Hopefully I'll have everything by mid-week, but I've already started my NEXT shopping list.

Dont do much variety these days but looove me some tfa ry4 double, plain caramel and jucyfruit concentrates.
And get all my pg/vg from essentialdepot.
Mixing supplies and bottles from amazon

Thats all l i got lol

Thanks for the suggestions, Thrasher. I bought my pg/vg/nic from E-Liquid Mart, but next time I think I'll get the pg/vg from EssentialDepot and my nic from either Nude or Wizzard. I still need to buy some glass bottles and I plan on ordering them from Amazon. I am looking for some 15ml plastic squeeze bottles to carry my juice around though. I don't need a lot, maybe 10-12. Any suggestions? I didn't really find much on Amazon for plastic. I'll mix and store in glass, but it'll be easier to fill my tank on-the-go with squeeze bottles with the drip-tip.

What would be a decent starter mix for vg/pg? 1 liter, pint, gallon? I planned on starting off with 50/50 no nicotine and around 5 or so 30mL flavor concentrates to brew up some 10mL personal testers.

I would think a pint of each should pull off five 30ml bottles with plenty to spare. Try putting the ingredients in the JuiceMeUp calculator and see how much liquid is required for each bottle. But, just a a crude guesstimate on just the base alone....
1pt = approx 473ml.
473ml x 2 (1pg,1vg) = 946ml
946ml / 30ml = 31 bottles.

I'm a noob at this, so don't take my word for it.

I've been DIYing for the last 7 months, welcome to the club! You're going to love it. I will say that patience is key, and for every good recipe that I've made, there were several awful ones. I recommend starting with a bunch of 15ml plastic dripper bottles (200 or so) that you can just throw away as you try recipes. Once I've got something good, I start mixing in 30ml Glass Dropper Bottles. A cheap label maker is great to have around as well. Have fun and make sure to keep notes!
