Bah! After just under a month on the e-cigs (and really enjoying them!) I'm back on the roll-ups for the next couple of days - my e-liquid supply ran out yesterday and it's going to be two or three days before my vapemail turns up.

Thoughts on smoking again? Blech. Taste isn't too bad but damn smoking smells awful - can smell it on my hands and my clothes and it's going to take days of vaping before I feel 'normal' again :D

Do I feel bad? No - I've gone 25 days without smoking or in other words, avoided 500 roll-ups and I'm pleased with that. My next shipment of e-liquid will last a month and I'll be ordering some more before it runs out.

So remember - if you slip up, think of all the ciggys you haven't smoked - get some nice e-liquids and maybe a shiny new mod (MVP2 + PT2 on its way!) and think how lucky we are to have a real alternative to tobacco :)

Happy new year everyone - and best of luck to you!!

Backups for everything my friend. It is one reason I took up DIY. I always can whip SOMETHING up to vape. Maybe not always the flavor I want but far better than back to the stinkies.

BTW I did it after a near similar disaster. I ordered juice but it was utterly unvapable. ECFs own IFFY fast mailed me a couple of bottles of his DIY which held me over until I could get a new supply of decent juice ordered. It was right about the end of month 1 vaping too. :)

Many of us have been there at some point. Just remember it is not the ones you smoke that matter its the ones you don't smoke that count :) You will be fine!

It's just one more day of wait for me until I'm finally able to go to a new shop and purchase an RDA! Hoping to finally build my own coil and experience a clean taste and strong flavor, the two things that really keep me vaping!

Though I'm smoking quite heavily at the moment, the flavors and experience of the smoke has gotten so ridiculously nasty that it's not even funny. I think my body is telling me I'm overdosing in cigarettes - there'll be periods where cigarettes seem to smoke and taste quite good, and then there'll be periods where cigarettes will seem to taste like tar and nothing I do makes it a pleasureable experience. This past week has just been horrible with smoking, yet I can't seem to begin to cut back.

When I get my RDA, hopefully the experience is positive enough where I can flat out put the cigarettes down and not buy another pack. It really depends on the clean taste I can get from the vapor. I have enough juice to probably last me a couple weeks or more (if not a month), so hopefully, if there's no hitches, it'll be a long time before I have the urge to smoke again - and maybe by then, if I ever do, at least the cigarettes won't taste as awful as they do now. For me, it seems cigarettes are awful when I first start them, then they get pretty good, then, if I smoke too much, they get plain awful - it's as though my tongue and throat is used to the full tobacco tastes and then only tastes the chemically tar feel...

Always, always, always have back ups...... that goes for your juice too. It's kind of a motto here.

Sadly my financial situation doesn't currently permit much in the way of a back up - my intent is to mix my own liquids and rebuild my own wicks/coils but it takes a little investment to get there.

The biggest issue I have with vaping I guess is that the only way for me to get liquids is via online retailers - that or I smoke Njoys at £6 ($10) a pop - e-liquid isn't too expensive but the shipping can be a killer on small orders so I try to order every couple of weeks and buy enough stuff to get free shipping.

I really hope that vaping becomes accepted and prevalent enough that I can walk down to my local convenience store and buy a bottle of e-liquid - don't see that happening any time soon though :)

Many of us are in a similar boat. Until recently I had no local retailer of bottled eliquid. What I have available now isn't all that much. Long run DIY saves a great deal of money as my juice is down in the $.07/mL range estimating on the high side. There is a bit of an upfront cost but once you get setup it is quite a saver long run. A small suggestion if you are serious about trying DIY in the future. Save your empty juice bottles. Just wash and dry them well (remove labels). That will save you from having to buy bottles when you first get started. A small thing but every little bit helps.

Good luck with that Good News! I'm looking forward to building a PT microcoil/cotton wick and vaping my brains out with the MVP :D

Once I've got that sorted I'll be on to mixing my own e-liquids - one bottle of 72mg nic/VG should last me some time since I'm an 18mg vaper - I'm planning on getting a bunch of the Inawera concentrates that they've been praising in the DIY-mixing threads too :)

Lol! Way ahead of you! Got a row of clean, 10ml bottles waiting for my first disastrous alchemy attempts! :D

back when i was still buying juice i would try to order an extra bottle and toss it in the back of the cabinet, and it was only for emergency and if i used it at all it got replaced asap next order. otherwise i tried to ignore it when figuring out juice for the month

That's a good idea - when my vapemail comes in I might stick 10ml of juice in one of these empty bottles and 'accidentally' lose it around here somewhere :D

You got some good advice from Myrany and Thrasher, two people I respect. Best of luck with getting a little emergency backup built up, and it sounds like you are eventually going to go the DIY route.

I can certainly relate to the tight money situation, and buying larger amounts less frequently to avoid shipping charges is just plain good sense. Wishing you the best in the New Year.

Yikes, Njoy are pricey here at $7 each!

As for the convenience stores, that's happening here, be patient, it will happen. Ecigs are taking off like wildfire, merchants will stock it when they smell profits. :)

As for the rest, just hang in there until your supplies come in, and don't beat yourself up. You know this is better, and once you're stocked up, it will be in the past.

As good an excuse as any to go to a local vape-meet, if there isn't one that's as good an excuse as any to organise one :)
I know you are very unlikely to make this mistake again AP, but there is no greater reward than being able to help another vaper

Thanks everyone! I've seen a few posts where people have gone back to ciggies and felt bad about it - I don't see any reason to be ashamed - I wasn't ashamed to be a smoker and I'm certainly not ashamed to be trying to make vaping work for me.

Sometimes our vapemail doesn't turn up, sometimes we run out of liquid and don't have a backup - sometimes we're just so stressed that we feel we need a cigarette. Slipping up doesn't make you weak - just human ;)

Yes! Definitely something I'm going to be looking into this year - I'd love to attend some London vape-meets :)

the back of the freezer is a good place. It won't turn I to ice, and you can "remember" it up to two years later.

Ah. I see your problem.
You are thinking that because you went back to tobacco temporarily, that this means you made a mistake!!
Make it your goal this year to reduce your tobacco consumption to less than last year.
Never think that having a smoke rather than a vape is "slipping". It's not. It's a choice.
Yes, in this case the choice was more forced, and you COULD have opted to pop off to the nearest petrol station and buy some cig-a-likes (looki-likeys?)
Just remember (as has been said), it's not the ones you smoke that you need to count. It's the ones you didn't smoke.
:D
