I used to vape a few years back and cant believe the amount of stuff there is now. I got ripped off by a storefront buying some starter gear a couple weeks ago and have been sorting out my nicotine levels since. Im overwhelmed and have been researching as much as possible, but I feel like I need to go ahead and buy something like a Provari to keep from wasting money on stuff that wont last. I used to have a Silver Bullet a couple years ago and this ego battery isn't cutting it. Well, I thought I would check in and say hello!

The Protanks have gotten pretty fool proof. Its all I've been using for a couple months or so, but I'm about to jump into some carto's for fun. I've been talking with a few veterans on here and have just ordered from IBTANKED for a nice tank and ordered elsewhere for some cartomizers. As much as I love the Protank, they do mute the flavor just a tad, but you can put them in your pocket upside down and they don't leak. A lot to be said or that. They are an easy maintenance tank also. Good luck....hope you find your sweet spot !

I currently use the ones that came with the kit. It has a 18350 and 18650 ICR. They have been fine, but I just don't over charge or over drain them. I am looking at the AW 18650 IMRs they seem to be the ones that everyone are talking about, but I have to do a little more research. IMR's are unprotected batteries, but the chemistry of the battery is "safer" than the ICR's even though an ICR has a protected pcb.

Welcome to ECF, the thought is a good one, Provari will last you for a long time. Just make sure you are committed to the vaping stuff before you make that investment. They are not cheap but in my book they are the best.
One of these days I hope to buy a provari. For now I'm using ego C twist, spinners and a couple of others. I'm really happy with them. They've lasted me for months now. Altsmoke is great about replacing batteries within the 3 month warranty if anything is wrong....no questions asked.

I was looking at those the other day. What battery are you using for it? I'm confused about the unprotected/protected. Is it safe to use regular AW IMR's in mechanicals?

IMRs are recommended in mechanicals and variable voltage/wattage devices. I've got a pair that are almost 3 years old and are still going strong. Standard lithium ion batteries like trustfires and ultrafires really should be avoided for reasons of safety and quality.
