Hello all,

I first started vaping 3-4 years ago and used it to stop smoking for over 18 months without any cheating. Unfortunately, last year I was dumb and started smoking again (I stopped vaping when I started smoking again so I wouldn't get used to both at the same time). Back then, I had started on 510 kits and quickly moved up to an EgoC kit with the small plastic tanks. I kept using the Ego type batteries but moved on to CE4 atomizer tanks and other similar styles with varying success rates (a lot would leak of not perform to my liking).

Fast forward to now. I recently purchased and received an itaste MVP and Vamo 5 kit. Both are far more impressive and enjoyable than what I've used before which I'm ecstatic about! Today is my first full smoke free day and it has gone quite well which I am very happy about. So far, I prefer the itaste MVP over the Vamo5 but I'm still very new to both so there is much trial and error to still go through.

My biggest confusion is what are the best tanks/cartos/etc. for my devices. The CE4 is working quite well with my itaste but on the Vamo5, my juice tastes on the burnt side at just 3v, ohms register at 2.0 on the Vamo so I'm not sure why I'm getting the burnt taste with it. I tried a different tank (no wicks, center tube with holes style) and that one was horrid with the Vamo, ohms registered at just 1.0 and juice taste was burned as heck.

I've just ordered myself another itaste MVP kit along with a pack of 10 CE4, a Kanger Protank II with 5 extra coil heads and an air control valve. I hope I made decent choices!

Basically, all I want is a reliable vape to help me stop smoking again. It was such a big help the first time around and I'm already off to a great start with today. I'm just hoping to not have to many issues as I did in the past, mainly with tanks/clearomizers/etc. either leaking or making my juices taste burnt.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks :)

many of the older vamos come up in MEAN mode by default; and sometimes reset factory default occasionally;

Press the left button and hold for 10 seconds.
If I says RMS, then you've switched from MEAN to RMS.
If it says MEAN, then repeat the process to put it back to RMS.

Hi Mala and welcome back. You've done well--but you could have done a bit better wrt toppers. CE4 clearos are old technology (that's why vendors put them in kits--not many people would buy them separately). They come with unreplaceable top coils--this design is outdated. What you want is a BCC (bottom changeable coil) or BDC (bottom dual coil) or BVC (bottom horizontal coil). So, Kanger PT2 with an AFC base is great--I would use it on the Vamo, because of its size--but it will work on the MVP2 also.

I am a fan of Kanger clearomizers--I really like their dual coil Aerotanks--they come in many sizes, but I like the mini and the regular Aerotank (2.5ml capacity, 19 mm diameter) the best. Forget the megas, the turbos and all that nonsense--unless you'd like a 5 ml + tank. I use different devices and flavors throughout the day, so I have no use for huge unwieldy toppers.

Good luck and happy vaping! And yes, we've come a long way... :D

Bless you!!!! That really helped with the taste I was getting from my Vamo! Thanks a bunch :)

I picked up the pack of CE4 because they were cheap and should tide me over until I figure out what the best toppers will work with my new kits. I'm glad that the protank II is a good choice. I will certainly look into the Kanger clearomizers.

Thanks so much for the advice Katya!

Hi Steven G,

I'll be looking into the Aspire Nautilus tanks for my next order. I'm loving all these new options that work so well!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome and advice. I'm already enjoying my Vamo5 so much more since edyle gave me that great info, no more burnt taste!

I really needed to quit smoking again (my lungs are pretty messed up from over 25 years of 1+ pack a day smoking) and vaping makes the transition so much easier for me. I haven't been crabby at all today and that says a lot considering it's my first day without smokes. This newer technology is leaps and bounds better than what I experienced in the past and I still haven't tried better toppers yet!

I can't wait to learn and try more! :)

Thanks again everyone :toast:
