So I started vaping a couple of years ago (late 2008/2009) but got away from it, i.e. went back to analogs. Back then, I started off with a smoke51 ecig but quickly realized I probably paid too much and was not getting the kind of hits I wanted, so I went and got a 901. The 901 was a workhorse, and dripping became my method of choice. When the m401s came out, tried those but the 901s seemed to be best. Sadly after a few months, found myself back on analogs since vaping just wasn't cutting it for me.

Last week decided to try and get back to vaping. Checked out the forums here and saw that a number of PVs had been introduced since I last paid attention. From posts here and elsewhere, it sounded like PV tech had come quite a ways from the "level 1" tech i was using back a couple of years ago. Decided to get an ego but in the meantime was getting by on the remnants of my 901/401 collection and an njoy I picked up at 7-11.

So my ego and accessories arrived today from LiteCig and all I can say is WOW. The difference is night and day between what I was using in the past and what's available now. Even without a full charge using the included carts, the quantity and quality of vapor that the ego puts out is just head and shoulders above what I was getting from my older PVs. I also tried out a pre filled cartomizer and it's also just amazing. Cart tech has really come along way.

Some quick impressions:

Ego: amazing. Wish I had this PV back in 2008.
510 pre filled carts - great vapor, nice TH. Taste is ok. Figure will be good to have a stock "just in case"
Black tea 16mg juice: nice mild juice. Don't really get "tea", just mild with slight nutty undertone
555 16mg juice: pretty much the same as I remember. Nutty/toasty flavor
High Caliber hot cinnamon 16 mg: atomic fireball candy. Fun.

Still gotta try the LR 510 atty and get a syringe to fill the 510 mega cartomizers I got, but looking forward to both.

Anyway, thanks to ECF and everyone here, been reading up a lot over past week and it's been really helpful. Also thanks to LiteCig (2day and I got my order).

Now about mods....LOL

Thanks all. Amazes me how far e cigs have come. I was essentially using first generation e cig tech in 2008/09 and now 2nd generation tech is common (ego, 6v mods) and looks like 3rd gen tech (wet boxes) are starting to get some traction. Pretty soon, e cigs may hit the point where you just pop in a 10 ml "juice box" to a PV, in the same way you might use a k-cup coffee machine, and vape away. No mess, no fiddling with filling carts or catromizers, long lasting, just charge the battery every 24-48 hrs or so.

I'm especially happy to see a number of US companies getting into both the PV manufacturing business (e.g. V3, omega) and the juice manufacturing business (e.g. pure smoker, johnsons creek). I know that many of the Chinese manufactures have excellent manufacturing processes but, vaping will only get more mainstream when there is a vibrant US manufacturing base. Hopefully soon we'll see a US manufacturer making not just PVs and juices but their own atomoizers and cartomizers.

(one thing that does surprise the heck out of me is how rare it is to find someone who sells a full range (10 or so flavors) of pre filled cartomizers. There's an opportunity there waiting for someone I think. Even the bigger/popular juice makers don't seem to offer that product, just bottles and blanks)

Anyway, enough blowharding. Well, maybe one more - I'd love to see more higher profile "vapefest" type events, both at the national and regional levels.

Oh yeah, the biggest change I see going from 901/401 PVs to the ego: I'm actually going to have to vape less or cut my juice nicotine levels down. Seems like the ego/510 cart is more efficient at vaping the juice, providing a bigger nicotine hit per toot. This past week, my wife has been calling me darth vader, I'd been sucking on the 401 so much. Learning today that there's no need to be constantly puffing on the ego, else you get a nicotine high.
