I'm now on Day 12 of vaping and more importantly off the analogs. (Woot!)

I have:
  • an taste MVP 2.0
  • 2 iclear 16 tanks
  • 1 kanger genitak

I'm happy thus far with my devices, but I'm terrified of equipment failure, being far from home and a variety store nearby that only sells smokes.

Would like to hear opinions on backup strategies.

  1. Buy inexpensive e-cigs, spare iclear 16 and juice and just leave them in car and at work
  2. Buy duplicate MVP and tanks juice
  3. Use this as an opportunity to buy different equipment to try
  4. What works for you

All tips to ensure my vaping isn't shut down because of a blown coil or something appreciated.

Personally I carry my box of wonders with me in my truck. I carry juice, Kanthal, cotton, tools all the goodies you could ever need in the box. Now on my person I carry a Hana Clone with a Kayfun on top as rig 1. As a backup I bought an iStick and love it. It is a small power packed long lasting mod. I would recommend an iStick as a backup rig if you are in the market for one. I haven't used clearos since May so I am not really of any help in that department.

I have 2 MVP's that are in constant rotation, and always have a couple of cheap heads for a fallback. I vote for option 2.

Although I've probably bought every cheap piece of junk on the planet, I would say for a backup at least go for an istick or an innokin VV V2 (if you're not just going to get a second MVP).

For backup heads, you might consider a pack of these:

(You might be surprised; I like these much better than the iclears!)

ETA: Oh, and Welcome to ECF!

1:
For somebody who recently started vaping, if disposable cigalikes work for you, then that's one good way to keep a backup; keep a disposable cigalike (brand new in sealed packable).

2:
The trouble with tanks is different tanks use different replacement coil heads.
Another thing is you want to have glass tanks for the long haul.
A simple starter glass tank would be like the kanger miniprotank2v2 or the aspire k1.
Both of these tanks are ego threaded.

On the other hand you might look at the kanger subtank which gives you the option to rebuild later on if you want.
