I stopped smoking years ago. It was hard but I went cold turkey and made it. I stopped for all the health reasons. Every once in a while I would blip and smoke when I was drinking. Especially if the person or people you are with do. I always felt bad doing that. I loved smoking though. I like the act, the process and the feel. So when guys at my work started vaping I was naturally very curious. So I just started to vape because I enjoy it and it doesn't have the health risks like the analogs. So it feels like I am going backwards compared to people that are trying to stop smoking for a healthier alternative. It feels like I am getting back into something I shouldn't. I just enjoy it to much to pass up this opportunity.

Hey & Welcome! I get what you're saying but at least it's still better than smoking! It sounds like you are using this as a healthier alternative in a sense too! I recommend getting 0 nic juice though. Hopefully it'll keep you away from the cigs you'd have when out with friends. I've had several friends quit & start back up that way! If anything I'd say that this could keep you from picking up the habit again!

We've had several former smokers take up vaping at work for much the same reason. They had quit smoking but still craved the cigarettes (and, of course, the stimulaxing effect of nicotine).

If it keeps you from starting up again I don't see any reason to feel guilty (at least that's how I'd justify it).

This came up in another thread and I don't feel the nicotine in e-cigs is nearly as addictive as that in regular cigarettes (at least for me).

I've been using RBAs a lot recently which has really increased my nicotine intake so I've been switching to 0 nic early in the evening so I'm not up all night and I haven't experienced any withdrawal symptoms between the time I stop and the time I start using my 6mg juice again in the morning (usually about 12 hours).

I guarantee when I was smoking I'd be having a nic fit after 20 minutes.

So...vape on!

Thanks for the responses!

I don't know if 0 nic would work for me. The nic is part of the enjoyment. I wouldn't go back to analogs though if that is the idea behind it.

Well, can't really SUGGEST that you vape either. You're an adult and can make up your own mind.

I vape because, if I didn't, I'd be back to smoking. Tried the NRT stuff. Lasted at most 7 months. Still couldn't stay off the stinkies.

If you can stay away from both vaping and tobacco....that's best. There's no guarantee that vaping is 100% safe you know. Not to burst your bubble. It's billed as harm reduction as compared to smoking. Not...harm free.

No worries, I do understand that there are still risks. It's still nicotine. At least from what I have read that I feel the risks are a lot less and I can still breath vs. the analogs.
