Hey gang,

A few weeks ago, I received my sampler pack from Halo, which included Tribeca, Turkish tobacco, Malibu, Kringles Curse, etc.

Malibu was nasty after about a week, so we steeped it. Wanted to wait on Tribeca, because it was one I was most curious about and wanted to make sure it was properly aged. Belgian Cocoa, Kringles Curse are fine, just not an ADV.

So here we are, probably 3-4 weeks later, and while Tribeca is at least tolerable, it still has an a rotten gamey fish aftertaste. I'm not sure how this one is considered a tobacco or even RY4 variant. I've had it in an EVOD, a CE5, and finally a dripper. The dripper gave me the "best" taste, but its still disgusting. On a positive note, Malibu tastes much better in a dripper, but still not great and I can still pick up hints of that same fishy aftertaste. Can VG go bad?

So, in light of Halo's 4th of July sale, I was wondering if maybe I just got a bad batch, being samplers. Has anyone purchased Tribeca more than once and noticed distinctly different formulations between batches? Maybe I would get a better, fresher mix if I ordered a bottle rather than a sampler?

With all the hype on Tribeca here, I find it hard to believe everyone is crazy about this particular juice.

I just received a sampler, and don't get any fishy taste or anything... In fact, it's pretty clearly an RY4 type right away with no steeping.

I'm bad at placing more subtle flavors, so maybe rotten fish isn't accurate, but its sure the image I get.
This is why I ask about multiple orders tasting different. Maybe mine was made with a batch of bad VG. Dunno, but its gross.

Tribeca is my primary juice. I've ordered over 240ML spread out over the past couple of months. The only variation I've ever noticed is that the fresh stuff tastes a bit "sharper" than juice that has sat around a while. The flavor of the steeped juice is pretty much the same. It's just a bit more mellow and the flavors are melded together a bit more.

I can't say for sure that you didn't get a "stale" bottle of it somehow. But, with tastes differing as much as they do, I suspect it's more a case of you just don't like Tribeca. There are quite a few highly acclaimed juices and vendors that I simply don't care for. It's just the unfortunate nature of the beast.

I had bad luck with Tribeca, the 5 carts that came with a starter pack had one that was CLEARLY something different. It tasted like cough syrup, which i have read whilst lurking the forums is a common reaction to Tribeca. I wonder if something is up with their quality control? This marks twice I've had trouble with them. I'm going RY4 with other companies from here on out.

I ordered mine about a month ago, steeped it, tried it several times, and then threw it in the garbage. Not sure if I also received a bad batch. Not sure how anyone could like it. The smell was horrible, the taste was worse. There has been a few posts about this already. So beginning to think something is going on with Tribeca.

You pick up VG at most pharmacies, its listed as Glyercin USP,it wont say vegetable on the label, but its all the same stuff.

Thanks. Knew it was at the pharmacy, but didn't know what to look for.

Thx to the other posters as well; good to know its not just me.

Having said that, tonight I just killed off the sampler bottle in my dripper. Oddly, while I could still taste that weird cough syrup, fishy after taste, the other flavors were more pronounced and it was borderline.....good. It appears Tribeca needs about 5 weeks to age....for me. No matter, it's gone and I've got some more GLV and Ahlusion flavors inbound. Yea me!
