I recently ordered a kit : 510 Auto Battery Kit with Red LED

I got my kit today and noticed that both the batteries have finicky switches - sometimes they would light up normally, and sometimes they wouldn't light up at all until I gave it a few sharp puffs.

I have tested both atomizers in both batteries, and the result is the same. I discovered that if I plug the holes of the atomizer with my fingers and draw, the batteries work normally. I have a disposable 510 battery and the atomizers work in there (the attys work amazing by the way).

The batteries charge normally, it seems like it's just the switch that's messed up. I've tried it for about an hour and it hasn't improved. Is there something I'm missing or should try to fix them? Is this a known problem? I'm going to recharge them both and try again later... lesson learned, go for the manual batteries...

Oh, and I just noticed that I'm missing a car adapter from my order, I got a 24mg bottle of Marlboro instead, but this isn't the place to solve that...
EDIT: Oh wait, on the order slip it says BO (assume it means backordered) so I think you meant to split up the shipments.

EDIT 2: After charging a second time, the batteries seem to be the same. One of them I can't get any consistent draw at all. The other, I can temporarily "fix" by doing a very sharp primer puff - I think this dislodges the switch or something. It goes back to the way it was quickly though.

Hi Dark, we've sold a lot of those kits and this is the first problem reported with them..

We got Backordered on 3 or 4 auto adapters and ac adapters.. As soon as they come in we'll get them out to you folks..

Wish I had a good answer on the auto batts.. Anyone else having issues with the 510 auto kit batteries?

thanks hoog..

Sounds like a balloon mod is in order for those finicky auto batteries.

Here is how it`s done Blow up a balloon any size will work. Now place the balloon on the led tip of the battery keeping fingers tightly squeezed on balloon still. Hold E-cig up to mouth now slightly let up on the pressure of balloon tip a little. :p

Or have someone you like blow in the LED as you take a hit. Called the shotgun method. :)

8-o What I was just trying to help.

Ok try to pop the LED end cap out and see if it might not be a problem.

I noticed you have to draw pretty hard to get these batteries to turn on. This isn't necessarily a bad thing - it's a hell of a lot safer than a mic switch. I ended up wrapping teflon tape around the two holes under the threads on the atty. Then I took a small drill bit and poked through one of the holes. After that I can draw as slow as I'd like. Wrapping the tape just right is harder than it sounds though. In retrospect, I also could have just plugged one with a tiny piece of duct tape.
Now my only problem is I didn't get anymore of those Bauway atty's when I had the chance. I hope they'll be back soon...

[EDIT] my batteries work just fine, the only reason I do this is because I prefer more resistance in the draw.

Right now the draw rate is way too high to be comfortable - it's not even close.
@joeparker - do you mean plug the battery hole up top or one of the atomizer holes? I think I'll try this next.

edit: well wrapping the duct tape also is harder than it looks. Once it's done it seems to produce the desired effect, however I have to redo this every time I clean the atty.

Dunno what to tell my friend, I'm supposed to be splitting this order with him :/

Auot batts suck. I have a dozen or so different ones that all required "tuning".

Either I had to open the holes or close the holes. The best way to close the holes is a tiny dab of super glue gel. not enough to flow into the connector, just a dab to make a skin over the hole. Too much may kill them dead. This only works on an 808 batt.

If you have two atty holes you could try it on one and build it up slowly for the 510.

The thing is every single person will want a different draw, so it is a matter of tuning to your liking.

Happy to hear it all worked out for you. Since there is no one size fits all unit and for sanitary reasons you can't try them before you own them, These forums are gold for the new user, or users trying a different model. I don't have a two hole atty any more, but it got super glue gel over one of them when I did. Just be prepared as you play with new ones to research different tweaks to get the most out of them.
