Been vaping for about a month now and I have noticed that my breath is getting nasty. Has anyone else had this happen?? I know that PG dries out your mouth and ive heard that dry mouth causes bad breath. I always drink water and I havnt changed any of my normal habits since I began vaping so I am asuming that the two are related. Also I wouldnt consider my self a heavy vaper, I usually vape when i get that cig erge.......Your thoughts??????

I'm with Needo. Improved sense of smell. Coupled with, now that you've stopped smoking, there are all kinds of toxins leaving your body, and that includes your mouth. That manifests for many people in the form of ulcers, but I had a friend whose father is a dentist quit smoking about the same time I did. After a couple weeks, she had a bad case of halitosis. Her father explained to her that it was due to those lovely aforementioned toxins leaving her body after 15+ years of smoking and that it would clear up with time. She compensates by brushing 4 times a day.

I had the quit ulcers for several weeks. Neither is fun, but they're a far cry from lung cancer. :\

My girlfriend has complained on a few occasions. She vaped for a short time, always coffee flavored juice. It definitely gave her coffee breath. I think it depends on which juices you vape. I've heard the dry mouth theory, as well, and I think there is something to that. Drinking fluids should help.

Definitely a step up over stank smoke breath, though!

Having a dry mouth is a leading cause of bad breath. You may also have tonsilloliths further back into your throat from smoking buildup and dehydration that can cause it but it's less likely.

I find VG to be much less drying that PG but it is still drying and it coats your mouth and throat if you use it too often.

Ensure you keep your water levels up is the most important thing to do.

Consider using higher levels of VG in your juice for a less drying effect. Decreasing your nicotine levels will also irritate your mouth and tongue less so you'll be less likely to have cotton mouth effect.

Use a mouthwash as well as brushing it as brushing your tongue is like using a toothpick on a shag rug. It only cleans the top and the tongue is like a sponge for germs so you need a deeper clean to really lift odours. Gargle the mouthwash to clear your tonsils too as they can really harbour bacteria.

I'd reccommend you use sugar free chewing gum as well to increase saliva production and freshen your breath. The saliva increase should help combat the bacteria causing the odour and keep your mouth moist.

Good luck with it and if it doesn't get any better consult your dentist for a checkup.

I have found it depends on what you vape. Every time I kiss my wife (which is luckily often), she would always get exactly what I was vaping. She loves flavors like cinnamon red hots and any mint or fruit flavors, but when I was vaping a tobacco flavor it was always an eeww gross. Just remember what ever you vape is transferred to the other, so something you might like she hates. Learn what she or he likes and try to vape that before you kiss. But all in all everything is better than the cigarettes.

Keep yourself well hydrated, and by hydrated I mean water. If that doesn't help the dry mouth/bad breath you might need to step it up a bit and look at other products.

Biotene works great for the dry mouth problems and can help with bad breath. My dentist recommended it to me years ago because of under active salivary glands, I'm using the mouth rinse and occasionally the spray. As a foot note, the spray is great for getting rid of the "wtf did I just vape" feeling you get after sampling a particularly awful juice.

I have noticed the same thing! i felt as though my breath smelled and felt horrifying! The combination of increases sense of smell, taste, and your bodily fluids cleaning your lunge will come in a package. But do not despair, for no matter what flavor your vaping i have the cure.

1-invest in a tongue scraper!
2-try to make flossing a habit. ( your increases sense of smell will make you noticing much more than before.)
3-make mouth wash a habit.
4-try to drink lots of WATER! you should take sips about every 20 minutes to wet the mouth.

your dentist will be impressed i guarantee !
