I have found my self without my e-cig until my order comes in from lf. I made it from about 6 pm last night until now without an analog, and I was up at 5:30 this morning. Not bad in my opinion for day two vaping. The last cartridge that I put on did not have any vapor, and had a horrible burnt taste, almost a roasted marshmallow flavor, so I put on another cart, same thing. I know that it is a cheap mall brand and the atty is most likely burned up, but two days, it should last longer in my opinion. It only came with one atty and I am about 150 miles from the store I bought it from. Any advice on how it can be fixed without any juice or another atty. I have tried cleaning it and putting a couple drops of the e-liquid out of a cartridge on the atty, and nothing. Is there any other tricks out the to keep me going until my order makes it in, or am I sol. Thanks
Jef

You can try to clean it out by removing the atty from the batt and blowing out the juice that's in it. Just take it off and remove the cart, then blow hard through it into a paper towel or napking to catch the liquid. Keep doing this until you don't get anymore. Other than that, you can try various cleaning methods like soaking in vodka, running water through it, or vaping pure VG. Do a search for atty cleaning and you'll find lots of info. If you do the vodka or water method you should let it dry before using it though. Most of the time just blowing out the juice works for me.

You can get VG from Wal-Mart, CVS and probably from a supermarket, too. Make sure it says UPS on the bottle. It'll probably also say it's a skin protectant, but don't let that fool you. You can vape it. You might be able to get some flavoring at Wal-Mart or a hobby store, too. They usually carry LorAnn's, which is used in e-juice, but don't get anything that's an oil or extract. Those will ruin your atty.

OK I will stop by one on my way home in the am and see. Unfortunately I work in an extremely small town, no walmart, no walgreens, no 7-11, no supermarket, you get the idea. The population of the town is only 600. Yes six Hundred. If you think that's bad, my home town population is on 250! So with my line of work (EMS), we don't have that many calls, and tend to sit for quite a few hours at a time. I don't know how most of you are, but after about a half hour to an hour of doing nothing I need a nic fix. I have been out and had two analogs in the last few hours, and honestly I have no clue why I started to smoke in the first place. After using my e-cig, even though it's a cheapy, I have been turned off by analogs. I can't thank everyone on here enough for helping me and welcoming me to the forums. Hopefully by Tuesday my Riva 510 will be here and I can cut the stinkies for good! Until then I am going to try and limit my analog usage, but that seems to be the only way to get nic for now. Thanks Again Everyone!!!
Jeff

I can totally understand, Jeff...I used to be a paramedic myself. Long hours of doing nothing and then all hell breaks loose. Most of the people I worked with smoked. It calmed the nerves and gave us something to do when we were bored. Congrats on quitting the analogs and here's to being able to vape our way through 2011!

WomanOfHeart,
Glad to see someone knows where I am coming from. The silence was broken at about 5 am this morning. MVC Rollover, ETOH, the whole drill. I live 100 miles from my base and we run a 48 hour shift straight. Usually in that amount of time I would smoke about 3-4 packs. I opened a pack Thursday and still have it now! The department that I work in, I am 1 of only 3 who smoke, so I really am happy about the non cig smell. I can go in the pt house not worried about stinkin like a cig, the hospital, and especially the back of the rig! I think that it is also going to make it easier when I start my medic classes in the spring (wish me luck).

I am not really stressing over it, but I do find it quite frustrating that a two day old cig would bite the big one. I might be able to save it. I am for sure going to take it back to the smoke shop I bought it from. From what I have heard about LF my stuff should be in by Wednesday! Does anyone know how long Gourmet Vapors Shipping takes. I bought a few juices and am eager to have them before I go back to work next week. The new Riva should make it easier to quit the analogs for GOOD!!!! Thanks all!!

I'd be willing to bet that as soon as you get your Riva, analogs will be gone for good. That's what happened to me. It caught me completely off guard because I wasn't looking to quit. I just wanted to be able to smoke inside when the weather got nasty. Low and behold, the minute I got the Riva and started using it I didn't want an analog. It was nothing short of amazing!

Gourmet Vapor is usually pretty good on the delivery. They really beefed things up and they're more prepared when they have sales now. It wouldn't surprise me if you have it by Wednesday, too. That would be a double bonus!

I sometimes miss being a Paramedic. Emergency medicine was my first love followed by Respiratory Therapy (ironic for someone who smoked 1.5 -2 packs/day!), but my disability ended that. Luckily, I discovered that I have a love for computers and a knack for the technical world. Now I'm doing customer/database support for a legal repository/e-discovery company and I love it! They even let me vape at my desk!

Speaking of Nicotine addicts, I figured that if my e cig was broke now, how much worse could I make it LOL. With a little time and some thought IT'S FIXED.... YAY!!! I took a few of the " old, dead" carts, took the filler our dabbed it on my atty, opened a new cart, dripped all the juice I could on the atty, added a new cart to the end, and it seems to be fine now! The only problem it I only have 7 carts left and no juice. I think I will stop and get some VG still, but 7 carts is better than another 50 analogs.
Thanks everyone!

WomanOfHeart,
I started in EMS by volunteering on my local fire dept. I then got interested in the medical side of it, took some classes and I really feel that this is where I am supposed to be. It's not just a job, it's a passion, and it takes certain types of people to be in EMS! After three years of volunteering, I was tired of not getting paid for doing the "same" job as the ambulance guys lol. Went to school, tested out, and never looked back. I still volunteer when I am able to, but work and school keep me busy.
I am not going to push the Vaping at work to hard while indoors, but it sure is nice to be able to go to the warm garage to get my fix, instead of the 18 degree outdoors!
