I went to the Cleveland Home and Garden Expo today... pretty large event, lots of interesting things to see.

When I saw a booth called "OMG Smoke Free" that looked identical to the mall kiosks I've seen in the past (Smoke Anywhere) I figured it would be nice to stop by and have a quick vape. I always feel a little self conscious vaping in public buildings, and thought it would be better around another vaper. I don't know any other vapers personally, as all my friends and family either smoke analogs or don't smoke at all, and was looking forward to chatting with someone in person about the subject.

I started up a conversation with a young guy about my age puffing on what looked like a KR808. I asked how much a kit cost ($139) and showed him my Riva with a Cisco LR306 1.5 ohm on it. He seemed interested, and then a customer asked about it. I told the customer that I mix my own juice, and they said that was too much hassle for them. I agreed that the prefilled carts are a lot easier for many people, and encouraged them to try vaping... explained how much better I feel and how glad I was to take the plunge.

I really made my best effort not to discourage buying the overpriced crappy kit. As much as I personally think it's a rip off, I thought it would be in pretty bad taste to tell someone that on a vendor's front door. Not the best arena to preach for a competitor, but I did mention ECF as a great forum of supportive members that could answer any questions they may have... as ECF is not a competitor, I felt comfortable mentioning them.

Then a man approached who must have been a supervisor. He asked me why I would come by there if I already owned an e-cig. I told him I just wanted a vape. He told me that what I was using was not their product, they're trying to make money, and to get the hell out of there.

Aaand so I did.

*sigh* in hindsight, if I was going to get chewed out by the guy I would have at least earned it. I would have told his customers that no, that battery will not last two days like he is telling you. No, using their prefilled cartridges is not the only way to avoid overdosing with nicotine, like he is telling you. AND NO, YOUR PRODUCT IS NOT THE LEXUS OF E-CIGARETTES AND THE ONLY KIT YOU'LL NEED FOR THE NEXT 2 YEARS.

Well we have a man at our Mall that gives people all that crap and that is where I bought my first e-cig and I plan on going to the mall tommorrow and if I see him, I'm gonna pull out my rivia with ego-t and tell him what an improvement it is over his stuff, then I will just walk off.....I think he deserves it, but to say a good thing about these mall kiosk they are helping get the word out about e-cigs, even if they do lie to you, I was told that his company's e-cigs WERE FDA approved, that was a big fat lie and I ask him at that point why don't you have a sign out stating that in public and he said that the FDA didn't want to advertise it, so I knew right then and there he was lying his a__ off!

If I saw a place with that horrible of ethics I would make myself a sign that said "ask me how to save 100$ on e cigs over these guys and get a better model." and sit right next to them. show off my riva, explain the truth and pass out business cards to ECF.

But if they were nice people and not being rude to me i'd probably just leave them be, everyone has to make a living somehow
