Bad luck? Or doing something wrong?

I started vaping about a month ago, and everything was going fine. About two weeks in one of my batteries just died, and the other one was only lasting 10 minutes at best. Went and bought a new battery a week ago, and it already stopped working. The two I got with the eGo kit were Biansi, got a replacement for one when they first died, and now it has also stopped working. The new battery I bought is smok, and I had problems with it right off the bat, but after tinkering for a few minutes got it to work. Was doing fine until about 3 days ago, now I can't really tell what's wrong with it, it lights up but no action. I'm guessing it's just not making contact with the atomizer. Anyone know why every battery I've owned has died or stopped working? It's pretty frustrating, and the urge to buy smokes is rising. I just want it to work.

Brand new to forums, too tired to read, so I'm sorry if I've broken some rules. I just don't like spending money on such a simple device only to have so many problems with it. Very upsetting.

thats pretty weird, do you have a multi meter or volt meter?
are they getting wet? when you go out of the house are you putting it in your pocket? if so what other things are in that pocket, keys, cellphone?
i use a carry case or if i put my PV in my pocket it will be the only thing in my pocket.

i have always used genuine JoyeTech eGo batterys from Totally Wicked some of mine are years old and still working fine...

1. I know what neither of those are, so probably not.
2. It does not get wet, and when I'm out of my house it is either upright in my cupholder, or in my hand. Maybe in my hoody pocket while i walk from place to place.
3. Nothing else in my pockets.
4. I clean them every other day or so, mainly just between tank fills. Using tissue paper or a Q-tip. Never had any problems with leaking and never noticed anything being wet.
I'm a neat freak so I'm constantly wiping the whole thing off. I'm the guy who always wipes off his phone's screen every time I touch it. Nothing too rough, just getting oils and stuff off.

on your smok battery.. check the center pin.. if you tighten the tank/clearo on too tight it could cause the center pin to get pushed down.

this hobby is very finicky and most people I know have come to realize that sometime you buy something that you don't like it or doesn't work like it is supposed to.

If it wasn't for the help of this forum I would have went back to smoking myself

oh and what kind of tank/clearo are you using

if the battery came with some sort of warranty i would suggest returning it.
your charger could be the problem, how many chargers do you have? it could be over charging them and thus trashing them.. with out a DVOM / Multi meter it would be hard to say if they are being over charged..
however the eGo should have internal protection to prevent over charging but i dont really know about eGo clones.

@burningmoney The guy at the shop warned me about over-tightening when I first bought everything, so I've been pretty careful about it. How would I go about raising the pin back to where it should be?

@Levia.ee I'm not sure what you mean. A warranty? I bought from a local shop, and I brought it back to them initially, where they replaced one of my batteries and my charger. The replacement was same exact battery, different color. I am having the same problems with it now that I was with the original ones. They only replaced one battery, even though neither worked. I never had a warranty on it, as they didn't offer any.

Currently I am going to a different shop, guy seems to know his stuff. However, it's brand new so I'm a little worried about the legitimacy of his merchandise. He's who I bought the Smok battery from. Going to him tomorrow to see if he can help me out.

@happydave When I went to get replacements, they gave me one battery and a new charger cord. The first few times I charged my batteries, the light would turn green when they were done, so I took them off. However, the light never turns green anymore, so I usually take them off after about 2 hours of charging and let them sit upright for about 15 minutes. This method worked for about a week. Now I constantly have a battery on the charger because my Smok won't do anything, and my two Biansi batteries only last for like 2 minutes, regardless of how long they were on the charger.

EDIT: @happydave Tweezers is what came to my mind first. I think I may have some hiding somewhere. I'll give that a try, thanks.

Letters, nothing for me to add except to console you. If you think you have bad luck, well then a member by the name of Goodnews must have horrendous luck to the power of infinity.

The battery that is dying after only 2 minutes is probably toast. Can't hold a charge anymore. How about trying a different delivery device/atty/clearo on the other batteries? Doesn't solve the problem, but it helps to narrow it down.

Well, then I think you would have to try to pull the centre pin up. What delivery system are by our using? It might be easier to pull the centre pin of your delivery device/clearo.

Also check the amp ouput of your adapter if you are using one. Too high amps and MIGHT have killed the battery that is not holding its charge.

@happydave Idk it says SMOK on the bottom. I feel like everything I buy is a clone at this point.

thats why i try to stay away from brick and mortar stores, anyone can order 300 clone batteries from china for $500 (with shipping) that look like the real deal but are garbage on the inside. one of my local vape shops carries genuine kangertech products but they want and arm and a leg compared to web prices...
