I just got my first Smoktech brand cartos (size XXL dual coil) and so far, performance on par with previous cartos, though the fatter size is taking a small adjustment for my hands which are used to regular 510 sizes. Anyhow, the plastic/rubber drip tip/mouthpiece that came with the cartos is making my juice taste plastic-like. Nasty. If I tailpipe it, I get the expected flavor, so I'm positive its the drip tip/mouthpiece.

Any advice on a replacement that wont affect the flavor? I'd be happy with the rubber stopper kind that came with my previous brand of cartos. I don't care how it feels in my mouth, I just don't want the nasty plastic flavor and prefer not to tailpipe it.

Well, that's a good question. I normally buy cartos from Totally Wicked, but they were out of them. (I was perfectly happy with the stopper type tip, I don't need anything fancy.) Because TW was out, I figured I'd buy a batch of cartos from Tasty Vapor since I was buying juice anyhow. They came not with the rubber stopper, but these rubbery/plasticy flat ended mouthpieces/drip tips fit for the carto. They fit great, they are a nice feel on the lips, but they taste nasty. So, now I have 20 cartos to use without a satisfactory tip to keep the metal edges off my lips (which is what happens when tailpiping). I guess I don't mind tailpiping that much, but having a potentially sharp metal edge makes me a bit nervous. So I'd like a solution for these cartos since I have about a month or so of vaping with them. Anyone have any ideas? Any way to jury rig a mouthpiece? Any ideas at all?

Well, I decided to get a bit inventive... more or less, lol. I figured if I could at least decrease the surface area of the mouthpiece, the plastic-y taste wouldn't be as strong, so I cut the tip of the mouthpiece off, leaving just a nub. Just enough to put my lips against, but a lot less surface area. I can still taste the plastic-y badness, but it's greatly diminished. Not perfect flavor, but passable. Still, knowing there's "perfect flavor" a tailpipe away, I'm still open to new suggestions.

Anyone??

These guys are only slightly fatter than a standard 510 atty/cart (11.5mm in diameter maybe?) So, it won't take a "regular" drip tip. The XXL is definitely not 5ml. They take about 2 ml tops when filling for the first time (between 1/2 and 2/3 of my dram bottle, so I think 2ml sounds about right.)

Anyhow, thanks 1HitWonder for the suggestion to insert a standard 510 drip tip into the cut off rubber - clever idea, I'll have to give that a try.
